Russia Invades Ukraine
A video on the "Turtle Tanks" that the Russians have started using in Ukraine to defend against Drones and such. It apparently a normal tank underneath the shell.

Highly limits where the tank can fire upon. Early extra shells seem to have been manufactured in the field (reminds me of the US army bolting steel plates to the open humvees in the field in the early days of war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many of these are used with the mine sweeper attachment they push in front of them as the leading vehicle of a convoy. The latest videos I got to see is that Ukranians have learned how to fly drones under the shell when attacking from the back where the tanks are vulnerable. Though I have also seen the shell with the rear also totally closed. I understand that in this case there needs to be two drone attacks, one to blow open the extra protection, the next to get to the tank itself.

"Let's put a huge kettle drum of dubious value on a tank of even more dubious value and restrict the field of view and arc of fire" said nobody sane ever.
