Poor young lady. The RWNJs are going to crucify her, whether it's true or not.
Yeah. Although I do have to wonder about her timing. Why now?
She said in the interview that she only came forward after George was first incarcerated, because she never felt safe before that. It's compelling testimony, and she sounds sincere, contending that this has been an open issue throughout their family for years, and they have basically kept quiet.
Much of the alleged molestation occurred when George was a minor, only two years older than her. So I'm not sure what kind of criminal implications are there.
While I can't see how this history could be included by the prosecution since it's irrelevant to the case, could it be used to speak to GZ's character if the defense should try to paint him as this innocent, upstanding citizen?
GZ has proven himself to be a liar since day one when he denied any prior arrests, claiming his past was "squeaky clean". He also said that he hadn't been through pre-trial diversion. You have to be nuts to lie to the police, thinking they won't verify what you've said. Is this a sign of arrogance due to his ability to skate from all prior charges? One of the first statements out of GZ's mouth according to one of the witnesses was, "I had to shoot him, it was self-defense." Since when is killing someone with a handgun self defense during a fist fight? The entire SYG law needs to be tossed as it has enabled the killing of over 90 unarmed citizens in the state of Florida since its inception.
I'm hoping we'll find out why GZ was estranged from his parents and brother prior to the shooting. Could it have something to do with the alleged molestation charges?
How many people think GZ will take the stand in his own defense? I'm of the opinion that he will want to do so and might go against his attorney's recommendation. He's arrogant enough to believe he could meet with the police without being represented by an attorney, so it's quite possible, IMO. The question will be whether or not O'Mara can protect him from himself. This is a guy whose wife is saying things like, "Dang, you're a big celebrity now." Has all this so-called fame gone to his head?
