Ken Bennett Courts Ridicule with More Birther Nonsense

Quote:
What in tarnation is wrong with Ken Bennett? Before he drank the birther Kool-Aid, then publicly spat it up, Arizona's Secretary of State was regarded as a moderate Republican with a lick of common sense.

But a month after the flap over Bennett's asking the state of Hawaii to verify something it's verified umpteen times before (i.e., President Obama's birth certificate), then apologizing for embarrassment brought on the state of Arizona in the process, he's stuck the other wingtip in his gob. This time, copping to an altogether different birther-related conspiracy theory.

That is, that Obama supposedly "fibbed" that he was born in Kenya so he could get into college and/or advance his career. Seems Bennett conveyed this latest foray into tinfoil-hattery at a recent meeting of Legislative District 12 Republicans.

A video of his remarks has been posted to YouTube. (Note: Onetime Sand Land scribe Nick Martin caught this one for TPMmuckraker.)

Seeing these RWNJ nitwits get crowded into an ever shrinking patch of Crazyland is hysterical!

I have this mental image of dear Kennie standing in the corner of a room with no shoes on, a paint brush in one hand and a near empty can of paint in the other pondering, "How the hell did I end up here!" =)) =))

I am still waiting for a response to my very polite email wherein I asked for more information on these allegations that he mentioned while clarifying what transpired with his request for birth information verification. I wrote that he appeared to be rehashing rumors, etc. and how disappointing it was given his position both in the state of Arizona and the Romney Campaign.

I was thrilled to learn that it was discussed on MSNBC (don't know which one of the evening crew covered it). I hope it gets plastered all over the place and I really hope Romney gets asked about it. It is fair game when it comes from a co-chair of his campaign.

I know the email was probably a waste of time; however, I feel like it is time to call these idiots out. They seem to respond to emails from the Birther side (and that is probably the majority they recieve). Anyway I felt like I did something.

It also lets them know anti-Birthers are paying attention, too. Wonder what would happen if we did the same thing, encouraged all our readers and those of the associated blogs to follow your lead?

Well I was following Jocelyn9596's lead and she even helpfully included a link!

After reading the posts about Bennett and listening to his lies on the video, I sent him an email telling him what an arrogant, ignorant and delusional moron he is. If anyone else would like to do so, here's the link. http://www.azsos.gov/info/contact_us.htm

I do encourage email correspondence sometimes in my circle. I will even write text to be copied a pasted for my more lazy friends. I know they don't read it all, but I am pretty sure they tally up what people are communicating about and which way they come down on the issues.

Yes, I sent him a message, too. He needs to hear from someone besides Corsi and the Birfers. He should know better and if he doesn't, he has no business in a position of leadership and influence.

I just got a call from my husband who asked me if I ever heard of Ken Bennett (shows how much he listens to me as I was on a rant about him yesterday ). It turns out that Bennett's video performance had just been aired and discussed on a program he was watching.

http://rt.com/programs/alyona-show/

Russian/English TV. I had never heard of it. Hubby is a Tom Hartman fan and he is on this station sometimes.

Anyway my husband was much more outraged about the whole thing after watching the clip. "Outrageous" "Accusing the President of Fraud" "Racist" "etc." He then said "Oh this is what you were talking about yesterday” He then further decided that this birther stuff should maybe be taken more seriously.

Rachel reports on Kreep and Bennett. I posted this on the Kreep thread as well.

He hasn't given Donald Trump this keys, so why should he give them to Bennett?

something tells me ken really really wants those keys and romney really really wants the donald to have them.

the donald, of course, threw them back in romney's face, and with a hearty guffaw.

You think Bennett is trying to upgrade his visibility due to the ongoing VP selection process (in his mind only)?????

I've heard of, watched RT. It's sickening. They are an English language propaganda network for Putin, and consistently find PRO Assad "academics" in the U.S. RT repeats the lies, every night, that no children are killed, women raped, or citizens slaughtered in Syria. I'm surprised they aren't pro Birther as well.

Can we change the name of this thread to "Ken Bennett is still a HEARTLESS TEABAGGER & PARTISAN HACK WHO NEVER, EVER REPRESENTS HIS CONSTITUENTS!!"?

Quote:
Bennett tosses tax initiative on a technicality

A few dozen Tea Party activists sign a petition asking Secretary of State Ken Bennett to investigate Barack Obama's birth certificate and Bennett springs into action, launching an investigation.

Nearly 300,000 people sign a petition asking Bennett to put a sales tax initiative on the ballot and once again Bennett springs into action -- launching the petitions right into the trash heap

It seems the version of the initiative seen by petition signers didn't match the first version of the proposed law submitted to Bennett's office. It did, however, match a subsequent version submitted by backers of the Quality Education & Jobs initiative.
...

Well if they had only gotten 3000 signatures he would have done it in a heart beat. Obeying 300,000 signatures is undemocratic.
