Oh, Popeye was a ton of fun. I somehow managed to earn what he believed to be an insulting nickname on my 2nd post to him. I was just about to tattoo "Patient Zero", uh, "somewhere" on my self and then post a pic of the tattoo, but Popeye ran away.

Like I said, I'll keep a sharp eye on it. Prob'ly call my doc in the morning, tell them about it too. Happy now?

I would like to echo Kimba. Take the meds and call your doc.

You are dealing with a disease that causes your immune system to kick your nervous system's ass. Do you honestly, in your rooster heart, believe it to be wise to cut a medication without supervision when 2 of your major body systems are so screwed up? Now you want to add your circulatory system to the mix?

Some meds can't be stopped "cold turkey". Many don't understand that coming off a medication can be dangerous if not done correctly. (I.e. Some are hospitalized when they go cold turkey off of anti-depressants.)

Your doc can't force you to take a med that you don't want to take. But, if you want to see what happens when you stop the med, ask how to stop the med properly.

Meds taken daily over time don't clear the system in 48 hours. You're not doing yourself a favor by not calling your doc, Foghorn. :-*

One more thing to add to that.

Don't make me call Wifehorn, Foogie! [-X

QUIT TALKING ABOUT EYEBALLS!!!!

After all, I had a rough day *schniff* as the Year Of Appliance Failures (YeOAF) has been engaged for an extended run. Lessee...In the last year and a half or so we've replaced the dishwasher, the oven, the built-in microwave (second time for that puppy) the refrigerator and the washer. When we got the new washer a couple months ago I said, "About all that's left now is the water heater and the dryer."

So, when I walked out to the garage this morning to find Lake WTF?!? Well, buh-bye old water heater. So $1,195.00 later, and the fact that we're loved by our plumber of 27 years, we have, same day, a brand new water heater. I hope that the Bradford White brand is as good as I hear it is.

Anyway, that leaves the clothes dryer as the last original appliance standing after 15 years. (we don't count the cook top because we had to have it repaired a few years back)

I'm betting that the dryer (squeeky bearing noise) fails within the next 3 months...shall we start a death pool on my dryer? Any takers? Pick a date, closest wins, in event of a before/after tie, before wins bragging rights? If there's interest I'll start a thread in the Sports section to avoid annoying the disinterested.

Also, please stop talking about eyeballs. And spiders, them too, also. KTHKSBY

I had pretty good luck with just putting in a drum kit. It has a couple of parts plus a replacement belt. While you're in there vacuum out the bunnies and then you can lube the electric motor (if need be). That should give you enough time until one or two of the coils burn out (not a problem to replace either). Older dryers are made to be fixed rather than replaced.

Edit: One draw back is that you are paying good money for old technology. The newer dryers are made to operate on less electricity, more energy efficient, and take less money to operate.

 freon recharges don't count as repairs so I guess we need to wait for the next appliance death before we start the pool.

I'll trade you the broken appliances for the power outages. 4 in less than 2 weeks here The most recent last night, but thank goodness it was only about 6 hours this time. The storm that came through Monday dumped 4.93" of rain and we lost power for about 28 hours. Combine our 90+ degrees with the humidity and no power and it's absolutely miserable. At least you can buy new appliances.

That one's easy to fix, like Sue says. It's prolly one of the rollers that turns the drum. Usually the kits come with two rollers, washers, snaprings plus the belt and idler and cost $20 or so. This took me about 2 hours on my 1985 Kenmore, with a 20 minute coffee break and cleaning up the whole inside, and I'm a retarded fumble-fingers. One of your worthless brothers should be able to do this job. Yeah, I know newer dryers are supposed to be more efficient, but I do just a couple loads a week and lots of my clothes I line-dry. It goes round and round, blows hot air, so I figured I'd try to keep it until I move! When it costs me $20 to repair something it would cost $500 to replace, I get this feeling like I really stuck it to the man!

Which means the lisinopril may have been prescribed to protect his kidneys, as opposed to it's anti-hypertensive effect.

i.e.

Don't stop the med without your doc's approval ;)

It is also quite common that diabetics take a high blood pressure medication (lisinopril/Zestril) as Diabetic Retinopathy is a major cause of blindness if not treated. The combination of high blood pressure and diabetes is quite disabling. It leads to a not very nice rest of someone's life, while using meds faithfully can keep one from going blind.
Edit: HBP and Type II Diabetes led to my mom having several retina tacks (where the retina has peeled off the back of the eyeball & the Doc lazes (welds) it back. The procedure can cause spot blindness at the weld spot, but you can see. Take your pick

My BP is going steadily down from its high of 228/118 shortly after my stroke, but I'm not ready to let go of the meds yet. I feel absolutely no side effects from my new meds (losartan potassium and amlodipine besylate) and am still not down as low as Foggy yet. I will keep taking them to counteract the effects of the salty stuff I crave and sometimes succumb to.

The lisinopril like to killed me, though. I'm one of those 20% who gets a terrible cough from it and I eventually developed pneumonia. OTOH, the meds I took for that made me feel better than I had in years, so in the end a net positive.

Keep healing, Foggy.

True dat. Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor. Made me cough, too. Also.

Don't have a ton of time to re-size and all so here you go Kate. I'm sure this has a lot of O-bot potential but here's the real story.

1st day down at Disney and this is the ONLY character she did this with. Wouldn't look at him AT ALL. Wanted nothing to do with him.

She is not however we have quite a few pics from earlier where you would swear she is. Her hair is coming in a lot more now and it's a golden blonde.

Here's two others from Disney. Tigger backed up about 20 yards and "hid" in plain sight. Pooh was trying to keep her attention. She was having none of it and took off as fast as her little legs could carry her and launched herself into Tiggers arms.
