So, Mr. Gneiss and I have been having a small PM discussion regarding art in general, and Modigliani specifically. Which resulted in Mr. Gneiss sending me a couple Modigliani prints and suggesting an idea for an Orly-Toon. I was about to send him to Verbie, 'cuz Verbie does Art and I do ransom notes, until I saw the perfect ransom note, presented below.

Have I mentioned that Mr. Gneiss rocks? Seriously, get to know this guy, and make him post moar! Wicked smart and funny guy.

For your viewing pleasure, an Orly-Toon, inspired by Mr. Gneiss:

Edit: I am SO sorry, I suck, please forgive me, to see the original Modigliani used in this toon, please go here: http://www.abcgallery.com/M/modigliani/modigliani9.html

Being one of those heathen science types who knows little about all the important art stuff, I had to look up Modigliani. Interesting life, interesting art, and yeah Estiveo, you nailed it \:D/

Gawd, I love this group!

I should 'splain.

Usually I get songs stuck in my head. Getting songs stuck in my head is a sign that I'm mentally healthy. I NEED to always have a song stuck in my head. I'd been not so healthy recently, the songs had left me and I was sad. So I reached out to a few members here for some help, they can identify themselves if they want. End result? I found the local help I needed and started getting songs stuck in my head again, like they should be.

But then a week or two ago, as Orly went into yet another of her manic phases, I started getting an image stuck in my head. Songs were gone, intrusive image took hold. So I talked to my therapist. He said to draw it.

I've said before that I don't draw, I don't make art, but I DO make ransom notes. This last Orly-Toon was the ransom note that got me the music back in my brain.

I was kinda hoping to slip it in under the radar, but the best laid plans...

For the record, current song stuck in my head is I Remember by Pulley. Before that it was What's Her Name by Green Day. I Remember is starting to fade and I'm predicting that by tomorrow morning the song will be I Want Burns by Reeve Oliver. Actually, thinking about it just changed the song stuck in my head...that's new. Didn't know that I could choose...I Want Burns.

This one smokes the competition right
Convinced St. Francis to ignite
Your cigarettes are not alright
And I know I want burns
For the sun to rise It must get dark
I'd never think you'd miss that mark
But if I'm the fire you're the spark
And I know I...I know I...I know I...

Estevio -- If you want some better songs stuck in there, I recommend Leonard Cohen. ;;)

Pfft. latest song in mah head: Miss Murder by AFI.

Leonard Cohen is too...gentle. Pretty music, but not likely to get stuck in my head. Well, except for Hallelujah, which makes me cry, but so does the Do Re Mi song in The Sound of Music. Okay, I get moved to tears. I sobbed my way through a small exhibition of the impressionists at the Guggenheim show in Las Vegas in 2001.

Anyway, musically I'm kinda all about punk, emo, electronica and, oddly enough, psychobilly. (Yay, HorrorPops!) Oooo...Where They Wander might just be tomorrow's song. Unless I hear some Beethoven (6th) or Vivaldi (The Four Seasons) or Dvořák (New World Symphony).

The masters rocked like a bitch too, also, y'know. Ludwig, Antonio and Antonin would prolly find a lot to love in modern Rock. At least, I hope they would.

This one either (ask your wife to translate, Dawg. It's really a beautiful song).
