Patience, my dear feathered friend, we are bringing the next meetup to an area near you. I've already checking airfares and hotel rates.

Can you say "beach" and "dunes"?

Yes'm. Can't wait to see you again. But take the advice in my Myrtle thread, and do not make hotel reservations before Labor Day.

We had a two bedroom suite with kitchenette, on the beach, looking at the surf from our porch, and the hotel had a swimming pool and a huge hot tub and a million other luxuries.

For sixty or seventy bucks a night. You can not get that deal now. We shall wait.

Kimba, love the miscellany! That would make a good poster.

I finally found the FireWire connector to download photos. Alas, Sprout is home sick today  and I prolly won't have time to download.

I had no idea I would love the taste of 'gator so much. I wonder if lizards taste similar? Cuz we ain't got no 'gators 'round here but we do have plenty lizards.

My pictures are still captive in my camera, as I won't be home until tomorrow night. (Although BB could tie me up to keep me here.) NOLA is an awesome place to visit, even more so with the Ladies of Fogbow. We're Sole Sisters. (Someone should post our group pic, hint hint).

I'm currently relaxing at Chez Bilderberg. I bagged the trip to Baton Rouge as today will be 99 and humid. Much better to loll about in AC and start catching up with the world outside.

Sorry, I'll be have now and wish you get better soon. (See, there are worse things than being talked about. ;) )

Only a 3/16 bit, but it was the same thumbnail I sewed through (and broke the damn needle off in! Took pliers to get it out.) not too long ago. No pictures, but my language would have imprinted any unexposed film lying around.

Trust me when I say I missed meeting y'all too!

You might wish to wait 'til you attend one to make such a statement. :-

Well, in fairness, I've attended two. I really, really REALLY liked the second one, for some reason. And I can say that Sugar's statement would definitely be correct regarding that one. :-bd

Wrong. He's the one takin' the picture.

You're seeing distortion, not hairy legs.

Why, yes, it is!

Tangent related to NOLA 2012* - New Mickey Shunick info

Quote:
Lafayette police announced Tuesday there was damage to the rear of the bike but they did not elaborate about how the bike might have been damaged. Police said they believe the bike was dumped in that area the same morning that Shunick disappeared. They do not believe the bike was thrown from the overpass into the water below. Instead, they believe whomever dumped the bike brought it to the swampy area and tossed the bike in the water.

* Mr kate520 saw LE off of I-10 on our way to the swamp tour. We learned later at the cajun restaurant when the 10 PM news came on that they had found Mickey's bike. The place went totally quiet to listen to the report.
