I pump faked joining USPU so I could see what they were about. But since I refuse to fund Birthers, I could not pull the trigger on membership.

Just got this in my e-mail

Quote:
Please keep your pledge to Freedom Force today!

Please keep your pledge to Freedom Force today!

As we vetted strategies for a year, thousands heard the Freedom Force message and pledged financial support to a people driven solution for America.

But most who pledged support have yet to act on their pledge. This is the greatest problem in America, lots of empty talk, very little real action.

I urge all who pledged support to me and Freedom Force to keep their pledge by joining US Patriots Union today!

If you have some reason for not doing so, I am eager to hear that reason. Are you waiting for someone else to save this country for you?

So, if you are not going to join with us, are not going to keep your pledge, at least give us the courtesy of an explanation. If you are OUT of the game, you can unsubscribe so that we don't keep asking you to keep your word.

Meanwhile, get you daily news at The Patriots News!

Thank you!

I replied to the email as follows:

Quote:
You asked: "If you have some reason for not doing so, I am eager to hear that reason."

As a West Point Graduate, I cannot offer you financial help because of your support for LTC Terry Lakin.

Sorry, but I must draw the line at flagrant disobedience and disloyalty within the officer corps.

Just wanted to put this here for the record.

Image

This the USPU Coat of Arms. And here's what they say the images stand for:
Quote:
The axes and arrows stand for Accomplished

The bird stands for Focused

The helmet stands for United

The dog stands for As One

The torch of Liberty rests atop ... And the Minutemen represent the warrior spirit in every member of The United States Patriots Union who have come together in the protection and preservation of individual freedom and liberty.

Just a few comments.
That's a dog?? It looks more like a dragon. And why does the dog stand for "as one?" Shouldn't the dog be always faithful?
Birds are focused? On what? Every bird I've ever seen has been looking all over the place.
What arrows? I don't see no stinkin' arrows.
The helmet stands for united. I guess they had to get in some warrior-type image. I think codpiece would have been a better symbol for united. But that's not very warrior-y, is it?

I'm so glad kittehs don't have patriots grabbing their likeness for wingnut coats of arms but they could be for the obot coat.

Poor old J B Williams is pulling the pin. Remember him, he had that massive march on Washington in November last where between 300 and 310 million people didn't attend

EFFECTIVE MAY 15, 2012 - PATRIOTS UNION AND VETERAN DEFENDERS WILL CLOSE RANKS TO ACTIVE MEMBER ONLY COMMUNICATIONS. OUR PRESENCE ON FACEBOOK AND BTR, AS WELL AS NEWSLETTERS TO NON-MEMBERS WILL END EFFECTIVE MAY 15.
THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST. THOSE INTERESTED IN MEMBERSHIP SHOULD VISIT http://WWW.PATRIOTSUNION.ORG

Apparently he wasn't getting the support he expected. He has also had his last Blog Talk Radio programme.
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/twanablevins/2012/05/10/uspu-final-show
I did listen to it for the first 1/2 hour or so. JB and the 2 ladies were most upset at the lack of support they were getting especially at the grassroots level. People were most enthusiastic at first but didn't conform to USPU's ideas of what they should do. JB also had digs at several people on the right who did not cooperate as they should.
I might go back and listen to the rest of it tonight if I get a few charges under my belt first.

Regards ...........Dick

I've been wondering about him. I think the turnout at his Veteran's Day Epic Fail was a real blow to him.

Well, I listened to the rest of it. I think you are correct Fogster that the Veterans Day fiasco destroyed his faith in his supporters. The rest of his show was full of his disappointment. He kept saying that they have to work together (but as long as they agree with him). The idea is for them to go underground and be prepared for what they know what is coming (whatever that is). My guess is that the organization will wither away to some extent with the key players emerging somewhere else in the future. We have seen this happen many times.

How could they have failed with an emblem like this?
(Check out BFB's funny post up thread.)

The "dog" is a standard-issue dragon. Where is the cross? Does J. B. Williams not ascribe to that part of RWNJ ideology?

I think the arrows are in the eagle's claws, as on US dollar, but the cut-and-paste job and resolution is so poor that they cannot be seen.

That said, I think the dog looks like a dog. It is in the pose you commonly see with dragons in heraldry, but there are no wings or scales and the tail is far more "dog" than "dragon".

The way those guys are holding those guns on each side, you wonder if they're compensating for something.

All in all a horrid and laughable emblem.

Wasn't USPU ready to kick ass and take names for Terry Lakin with a stable of retired old farts from the military? Also, I seem to remember a claim Williams made that they had a dozen ex-CIA agents who had examined the LFBC and declared it was a forgery?

Williams also lamented their failures and lack of cooperation with the Lakin business.

I've seen better coats of arms designed by 12 year old Dungeons & Dragons players.

Fess up, that was you.

I never was a 12 year old D&D player.

The game was first published when I was 18. =))
