Sen. Tom Coburn admonished for helping former John Ensign aide

The Senate ethics committee admonished Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) Friday for assisting a former Senate aide who was prohibited from lobbying for a period, ending the panel’s three-year investigation into the affairs of former senator John Ensign.

Coburn, once a close friend of Ensign’s, tried to help the Nevada senator throughout 2008 as Ensign’s affair with the wife of a senior staffer threatened to unravel the once-rising star’s career.

In his time in Congress, Cunningham doesn’t appear to have ever gone on-the-record specifically in regards to defunding the ATF gun restoration program, though he did vote for appropriations bills which included the language banning it from being funded. At the time it was passed in 1992, the defunding of the unit was supported mostly by gun control advocates, but there has never been a major effort to give ATF funding to restore the program.

The Montana Republican Party showcased a bullet-ridden outhouse described as the "Obama Presidential Library" at their state convention over the weekend.

Delegates took pictures with the outhouse, which featured what was described as a "fake birth certificate" for Obama in an effort to showcase the birther movement, The Missoulian reported. State Republican Chairman Will Deschamps dismissed the outhouse, which also made sexual references to First Lady Michelle Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, as a "sideshow."

“It’s not something I’m going to agonize over,” Deschamps told The Missoulian. “Some of that stuff is not real good taste. We do have a president of the United States, and we have to honor that.”

Sharon Holmes, State GOP Delegate, Accused of Pulling Gun on Repo Man and Leading Police on Car Chase.

According to an account from the Kingman Police Department, Holmes, 68, owed someone some money, as collections agents showed up to her place to take back her car.

Holmes apparently didn't want to play by the rules, as she brought out her gun to confront the agents, police say.
