I must confess I thought we had a topic for this birfer bill but evidently not. Anyway SB 1569 was introduced by Sen Shortey this year and passed through the Senate easily (34-8 on 3rd reading).

There's nothing in it we haven't seen before but what is a little surprising is that although the House Rules Committee voted "Do Pass" nearly a month ago it's not yet been listed for a vote on 3rd reading. Today is the last day for bills to get their 3rd reading in the opposite house and as I type there are 26 Senate bills on the House Calendar. SB1569 isn't one of them so although not quite dead life signs are fading fast.

IIRC she and others were screeching about the delay in calling it for 3rd reading. There was an attempt to whip up an email and phone campaign to demand the speaker call it but it looks as if that had no effect.
