The Court commends Sergeant Stein and all service members for their committed service to our country.

It is a tribute with great impudence to the United States Marine Corps that Sergeant Stein is fighting to stay in the service.

Nevertheless, Sergeant Stein associated himself as an active-duty Marine and stated, until clarified, that he would not follow all orders of his Commander-in-Chief because Stein is a racist douche canoe.

Phil Cave sent me this link from the Army Times

Quote:
SAN DIEGO — The Marine Corps said Wednesday it has decided to discharge a sergeant for criticizing President Barack Obama on Facebook.

The Corps said Sgt. Gary Stein will be given an other-than-honorable discharge for violating Pentagon policy limiting speech of service members.

The San Diego-area Marine has served nearly 10 years in the Marine Corps. He has said he was exercising his free-speech rights.

The discharge will mean he loses all benefits.

From the Armed Forces Teabaggers FB page:

Quote:
Commanding General Yoo has ruled that Gary Stein will discharged for the Marine Corps with an Other Then Honorable discharge. His discharge will be postponed until results of a medical condition, he was diagnosed with on Monday, are returned and treatment is discussed.

I am resiting making light of that just in case it is something serious.

I suspect this may be a tad wrong or else we got a stick we need to be using on our retired military nutjobs:

If you have plans to speak out against the current administration, I would strongly recommend against it until you are off active duty —and not collecting retired pay!

I've been following this today on a couple of Facebook pages and news sources and have been totally appalled by the ignorance displayed in the comments, especially from some who claim to have been in the military and yet demonstrate complete ignorance of military speech policy. The Navy drilled that into us from day one and it was regularly reinforced.

Looks like the ex-Sgt. is now substituting regret for stupid:

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/ ... ke-it-back

Quote:
And he said he has also apologized to the president.

“If he was in front of me right now, I would salute him, say, ‘Yes, Mr. President, No, Mr. President,’ and when I walked away, I would still disagree with his policies. But those are two separate things.”

I can't help but suspect that someone egged this guy on, and some of the rhetoric he displayed early on was very "Oath Keeper-ish" in tone ... and sure enough, guess who showed up at his hearing as co-counsel but Stewart Rhodes himself. Naahhh, just a coincidence [-(

In order for any retiree to be covered by the UCMJ, you must put the retiree on active duty, then the government can file charges. Costs a shitload of money to do this and the services aren't interested in spending a lot of money on old smelly farts.

Compared to Lt Howe, he got off very lightly. You know for a marine, he sure is a whiny, sniveling little weenie. Disgusting. Play with teaturds and you just get shit all over ya.

I don't do enuf FaceBook to know, but it looks like he deleted a post. He was feeling all bravo, and said no one could ever take the title "Marine" away from him.

Um... yes they did.

I served in a bunch of units (Army) in my 12.5 years and I can't for the life of me remember folks EVER getting political. A wee bit about the legitimacy of Desert Storm during the lead up to it, but nevernevernever anything about prezinuts or congress outside of what they set promotion points to or pay raises/bennies.

This dude is a flat out idiot.

What's bothersome is how many people don't get that he's out to lunch on his military duty under the UCMJ and don't care if you tell them. And that's (if you believe them) including ex military out there in the great unwashed. THESE are the kind of people who need to be tested before they get anywhere near a ballot!

Another known nutbar:
Quote:
"I am sad to see a Marine Sergeant may lose his career because he dared to criticize the President on a Facebook page. Should we have disciplined this young NCO? Yes. But to end this Warrior’s career with a less than honorable discharge is not the answer. This Marine had served nearly nine years in the Marine Corps and was planning to reenlist. Maybe if America had leadership that gained the respect of our military, instead of simply using them as stage props for speeches, this atmosphere would not exist." ~ Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West
