Levon was one of my favorites. There's lots of people on that video who have gone to the Bluegrass up yonder. Johnny and June, Roy Acuff, Chet Atkins, a few more. Levon was a good man.

Too bad he didn't get to see the premiere of the new movie. Or else he died of a broken heart.

Rick Sanders, graduate of Liberty Union High School in Baltimore, Ohio, passed away this weekend of a heart attack. Being that he lived in Ohio and has been thumped by the teatard administration there he didn't get to have life insurance.

I graduated with Rick in Baltimore, Ohio. He was always always always a stand up guy and sadly he passed away this past weekend from a heart attack.

There's a Facebook page if you're inclined to donate to a fallen officer and life long decent human, here.

The preview should have been enough to cause his broken heart.

Sorry about your friend JT8. It must be very tough for his family.

As for Jonathan Frid, he had a cameo (at age 87) in the new movie. The flick does not appear to be the cause of death.

Mr. Frid had a serious impact on my upbringing.

Mr Sanders had a serious impact on my making in past 1978.

Thanks.

Yes.

Mr Brid filled a void that lacked real life friends.

Mr Sanders, on the other hand, was a real life friend that never never never judged. A kinder, more reasonable person as a high schooler you'll have never encountered.

I understand that. I am very sorry for your friend's loss. Not many people like that left in this world.

Levon Helm, Jonathan Frid, and Dick Clark? There goes many memories of afternoons in the late 1960's. 8>

Ellsberg, for his part, said in an interview that Colson never apologized to him and did not respond to several efforts Ellsberg made over the years to get in touch with him. Ellsberg said he still believes that Colson's guilty plea was not a matter of contrition so much as an effort to head off even more serious allegations that Colson had sought to hire thugs to administer a beating against Ellsberg - an allegation that Colson states in his book was believed by prosecutors despite his denial.

"I have no reason to doubt his evangelism," Ellsberg said of Colson. "But I don't think he felt any kind of regret" for what he had done, except remorse that he had been ineffective and got caught.

I'm still convinced the only thing Chuck Colson ever regretted was the fact he got caught. Colson was a hatchet man who found religion just in time to get a reduced sentence. How convenient.

And we will certainly rest peacefully once Liddy joins him. Oh. Wait. He's headed for a hot destination. Or an icy lake. Take your pick.

I was taught long ago not to speak ill of the recently departed, although in Chuck Colson's case an exception seems warranted.
CBN News wrote:
Colson was indicted in 1974 for conspiring to cover up the Watergate burglary. When news of his conversion leaked to the press, the Boston Globe reported, "If Mr. Colson can repent of his sins, there just has to be hope for everybody."

Sorry folks, I'm not buying it.

Nor am I. He was a corrupt, evil man, who got religion as his next lever of power. Good riddance ...

I have no problem speaking ill of the dead as long as I hold ill feelings. (yes, I can hear the collective "DUH!" from the Boogle.)

Mr. Colson is added to my list. The heading of the list is: I Hope It Hurt When You Died

To be clear, I hope it hurt when he died. I'm really not a nice person sometimes, but I'm mostly not nice to the dead. Mostly.
