How current/accurate is the database you searched ? Ted and Ludmila Moran might still be listed as registered to vote in Union County, at their Cranford address. Or their address in South Amboy.

Many people have the same name in this country of highly mobile individuals. Pulling information from various sources, including criminal court records, and publicly associating that information with a particular person is dangerous business.

But this is a Ballot Challenge not a lawsuit against the SOS. The problem they are facing is that the primary election has nominated delegates to be elected not the President. Furthermore, the nomination of the President is covered by a much different statute which does not require any oath or certificate other than the filing of a 1000 signatures.

So they are facing the following upward battle

1. They have the burden of proof
2. Objections must be based on the statutory requirements in N.J.S.A. Title 19 for petitions.
3. The primary election is about delegates for the conventions, not about the Candidate for President. They may object to individual delegates but the petition for choice of President does not require by statute any certificate or oath from the candidate (N.J.S.A 19:25-3).

THis will be so much fun... And the Courts have already ruled that N.J.S.A. 19:13-10 does not limit primary challenges to voters who are democrats, so there was no need for a bi-partisan group of objectors. So both Purpura and Moran have standing but they will fail on issues 1&2

Good point, and I agree. Mistakes can be made in research. Disclosing personal info is not cool, regardless of the intent or the accuracy of the info. Those discussions should be PM'd, so I won't mention anything in forum posts, again.
Who birthers is not as important as What they do, and What kind of legal actions they take, and What proof they can offer to support their assertions.
Seeing as how they have nothing to support their claims except debunked kooky conspiracy theories, (and an emotional, personal, irrational dislike of the President ...), and that facts and law are opposite to their complaints, they pose about as close to Zero legal danger as one can get.
The smears are what pose the real danger; their campaign of deliberate slander/libel is conducted by individuals who should be known and named. Most of the rest, like this Ted Moran fellow, are misguided followers who are capable of nothing, and never have done anything. Most birthers are woefully unfamiliar with the "real world" and so are easily misled by those conducting a political defamation campaign. They deserve to be free from harassment.

As I just said in another thread, what's the difference between us looking up info on Mr. Moran and them doing what they do to Mr. Tepper and various judges? Seems to be a discussable line.

I agree with your point within limits. Information that is literally only related by the tenuous thread of the same name should be posted only with a clear caveat that the information may be solely the result of what I call a "name collision." New Jersey is a small state, but the most densely populated in the country.

With regard to the thread, I am disgusted that Morristown was the locus for this pathetic clown show. If I were still in the area, I would have showed up to shower the participants with insults.

As far as I'm concerned the aim is knowing my enemy while their aim is to harrass.

It's difficult line to draw. In this particular case a new birther appears from nowhere I was trying to find is he had any past "form" as a nutjob. Was there any evidence of past birther activity, was he a Truther, had he fallen for the Clinton death-list, was he a racist etc? In particular, since he was claiming to be a Democratic voter, was there any evidence to support or refute that.?

Now in this case I found virtually no evidence of past activity and my post convey that, that's why I gave few detail, no links, no addresses, no company names etc. I could probably have done it better. However, If I had found something significant and relevent I would have had few qualms about posting about it.

Others in this thread and others have published information about birthers that I have also found and decided not to publish, but I do not condemn them because as I said it's difficult to know where to draw the line.

Cody Judy's "bomb" and Purpera's divorce aren't that relevent to their birthing but the discussions would be less colourful is we didn't know about them.

Also, if fat little Purple guy really was a partner in Bear Stearns, that is relevant. Means he probably has quite a bit of financial resources to waste on tilting at birther windmills. Notice how Mario has latched on to Purple.
Watching his performance in the Jan 10, 2011 video where he emphatically shouts down those who disagree with his assertion that Biden will be removed from office along with Obama ('cos they came in as a team, they go out as a team....) and that everything Obama has signed or done while President would be wiped away - shows that he has a serious lack of knowledge that is taught to 6th graders. His own opinions block out basic facts and reality.
From my experience with stock brokers and traders, I recognize that some folks who are financially successful because they are good at doing one thing, are low quality people. There's a lot of stupid jerks who are full of themselves and dumber then a box of rocks that have gotten rich. FWIW I'd put Purp in that category.

Purpura is so convinced about how well argued his claims are that he cannot possibly imagine why the Courts reject them and yet, they are in most cases quite poorly argued, ignore precedent rulings, common sense and logic. Thus, unable to recognize his limited legal prowess, he continues his claims, undeterred by his continued failures.

Quite interesting in fact but in the end, as with his marriage, it ends up in total failure.

I can almost hear Purpura in Mario's epistle eh legal complaint but they fail to

1. Recognize that they have the burden of proof
2. Recognize that the need to bring a challenge by citing N.J.S.A. Title 19
3. Ignore that the Primary election is about delegates not the President
4. Ignore that the President choice nominating petition does not require the candidate to swear an oath or submit any certificates.

In other words, the case will be dismissed on failure to state a claim. With a bit of luck, the Judge will rule that Minor does not hold and further 'embarrass' poor Mario.

But that would just be icing on the cake I guess.
