Malia Obama went on a school trip to Mexico. This has sparked the usual outrage from the RWNJ's.

Also, there was an earthquake in Mexico today, but the White House has stated Malia was never in any danger. She's fine.

Anyway, back to the faux outrage.

Some news outlets released the story that she was in Mexico. The posts were later scrubbed. They were scrubbed to protect Malia.

This surprises me. Of all people, RedState's Erick Erickson is defending.

Some tweets from him:

@mcbessey It isn't on the do not visit list: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_t ... _5665.html

The Obama daughters have a hard enough time living a normal life with their dad as POTUS. Even the Bush twins had secret service protection

@CTIronman Except we wouldn't know she was there except for a number of conservative sites pushing the issue of her vacation before hand.

As a dad, I am personally offended by conservatives wanting to make sure everyone knows where Malia Obama is in Mexico.

Yep, let's advertise that my, yours, the President's daughter is going to country who has allowed violence and the drug trade to flourish. Let's alert the killer, kidnappers, and "white" slavers that the there is a highly visible target running around with a small SS detail. Think about the fact that the criminals in Mexico can get a large band together to crack a prison, I think a SS detail facing about 20 folks armed with good old American guns (cause you know they are the best!)....

Kidnapping seems to the be #1 sport in Mexico.

Sometimes the press can be severe assholes.

There was a strong 7.6 earthquake today in the region where she is said to be. No terrible damage but described as, "It was hard, it was strong and it was long." It must have been very frightening for all.

Oops. Just saw Mimi already said.

I giggled a little, too. But I felt guilty about it.

I am no fan of Erik son of Erik but he has been one of the most rational members of the Right Wing Blogosphere at the moment. I am wondering at what point does he go the way of Little Green Footballs.

Of course it's okay for Sarah Palin to buy a fancy new house in Arizona in this rough economy......

Okay for Bristol Palin to get fucking "corrective" plastic surgery

But Malia Obama goes on a school trip to Mexico and suddenly it's scandalous.

At least the Obama children go to school, unlike Sarah Palin's kids.

Is it like Palin's kids are allergic to an education.

Sarah needs to feel that she is the bestest and brightest and smartest of everyone.

If she allowed her children to get an education, it just might be possible that they would get smart enough to see her for what she is and shatter her delusions.

An education would allow them to break away from her and write a great book in the "Mommy Dearest" vein.

They weren't taught to value education. It's a RWNJ paradox. On the one hand you have the people like the Palins saying "meh, who needs college". Romney says much the same although all his kids are college grads. Then you have the ones funneling the little NJ's through Liberty University into career positions at Justice and State.
