Realist's cat loves him some Westerns. Get some horses and John Wayne and Simba drops everything and plants himself in front of the tv. Is this typical? I can't check with my cats because my tv doesn't get Westerns. At least it hasn't so far. My tv only seems to get fashion, cooking and reality shows.

Isn't that going to cause a problem in the future?

We once had a piranha who watched the soaps.
His tank was in the den where my sister watched soaps in the afternoon. The tv was next to the tank. My guess is that the TV heated up the lowest corner so Percy would swim over there. Sure looked like he was watching! In the evening the den was for reading, so Percy didn't watch TV. He died at age 16.5.

I have visions of us in front of 2 different tvs in the house, with our various felines, texting away to each other.

This is my fave pic of Weeny since it:

Shows how pretty she is

Shows her usual expression (utter blankness)

Shows her innate understanding of cat vs non-cat surfaces (there are no non-cat surfaces)

Two words of advice from a long married person -- cordless headphones. Save my mariage many times. You can both cocoon on the couch while still watching 2 different things and texting and be in the same room!

My daughter would be a disgrace to birfistan.

She is in the midst of preparing for a trip to India, applying for visas, etc., etc., and I was on the phone with her today when suddenly she exclaimed at her cat Tonto, "Augh!! Tonto!! You. Ruined. My. LIFE!"

"What happened?" I said, after a respectful pause.

"I was waving this pen in the air while I was talking, and he wanted it. And in stalking my hand, he walked across this form that I just spent my life getting notarized, and because he has the weight of seventy cats, it ripped, entirely in half, right through the notary's embossed seal. Right where it says 'NOTARY:' with a colon... the word NOTARY is ripped in half."

"Oh dear," I said.

"I guess I can just tape it up."

"What's it for? Not the visa or passport, I hope." I said.

"It's just the waiver of responsibility for the sponsoring group I'm traveling with. [Pause] There. I taped it. I added a note saying 'I'm sorry my incredibly fat cat tore this form by walking across it.'"

Bwahaha. That is fab. Naturally Tonto ripped the area with the seal. That is Murphy's Cat's Law.

The 4 kittehs are doing fine. Not any bigger but eating every 2-4 hours and playing with each other, etc.

I saw them today at the ex's place.

All 4 of them have SueDB's name on them. Too bad they are going to 3 other homes.

DH and Peaches love watching Westerns together, she sits on his chest and they watch old reruns of "gunsmoke"

I am, once again, bird-sitting Toby the Senagalese Parrot while my brother is at Disneyland (All discussion of a single, childless, 48 year old man who buys season passes to Disneyland should be addressed elsewhere)

Megs the Cat, the Greta Garbo of cats, couldn't possibly care less that there is a bird in the house. She has furniture to hide under and can't be bothered.

Trouble teh Tortoiseshell Kitteh, however, is camping out by the door to the office where Toby lives when visiting. I let Trouble in a few times a day, sit her on my lap and let her look at the birdie. Trouble chuffs and chatters, Toby chirps, whistles, shrieks and says "Hi Tow-bee!" and "Good Tow-bee!" and "HI!!!!" and "Wanna come out!" (That last one means she wants to come out of the cage, get her neck scritched, get her beak rubbed and get, well, petted.)

Anyway, Trouble got to be in the office while I was putting fresh water and food in Toby's cage, and she finally jumped up on the card table we put the bird cage on and...Ignored the bird totally and went around to the back of the cage and tried to grab the hanging parrot toy with the wood and the silver chains and the little bell. #-o

This may explain why Toby shows zero fear of Trouble. Maybe they know that they're cousins? :-k

I'm sorry, but for security reasons that information may not be given out.

To protect the kittehs.

Kinda full up for the moment, but we could be looking for an outside cat later. :D

Cat allergies are usually allergies to cat dandruff. Vets (and maybe some pet stores) sell a shampoo that does a great job on the dandruff.

Not every cat becomes a lethal machine when given a bath, especially if said cat starts getting baths as a kitten.

It's really the baths catz give themselves with their own tongues that brings on the issue, I thinks. If they didn't do dat, the dander wouldn't be at issue. Knock it off, ya dumb catz. [-X
