Pat Buchanan Moves to Fox, Immediately Makes Birther Joke

No, he doesn't have a show on Fox (yet), but Pat Buchanan made an appearance on Sean Hannity's show and said this (at around 2:38 in the video below):

Sean, you know, a couple of months ago Obama was so low in the polls even the Kenyans were saying he was born in the United States.

S & P Birther Index Posts Big Gains

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) – In what some experts are calling a strong indicator of improvement in the economy, Republicans in recent weeks have begun renewing their claims that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States.



While most economists agree that any significant improvement in the US economy is generally accompanied by an uptick in GOP questions about Mr. Obama’s place of birth, there is now an econometric tool for measuring the increase in those claims: the so-called S & P Birther Index.

The Birther Index, established in 2008, measures the occurrences of such words as “birth certificate,” “Kenya,” and “wasn’t born here” in Republican statements about the President, and has proven to be a surprisingly reliable tool for tracking improvements in the economy.

Harland Dorinson, the economist who devised the S & P Birther Index, said that as the economy recovers the index also shows a strong surge in statements questioning the President’s Christianity.

Incidentally, rain is not the only reason for carrying an umbrella in Texas. Protection from the sun is one such additional reason. In fact, "ladies" used to carry parasols all the time to protect their delicate skin. They may use an SPF-40 product now.

The 1978 testimony that the umbrella involved the Court of St. James and Neville Chamberlain is weird.

I always got a kick out of the fact that, as an member of the Air Force, we were allowed to carry an umbrella when it rained. Army personnel, at the time, were prohibited from carrying an umbrella. (I believe that has recently been changed.) I can recall many a joint service meeting during a rainy day where members of the Air Force showed up reasonably dry while the Army folks were soaked to the bone, dripping water every where. I guess it was more "manly" to be catch your death of pneumonia than to carry an umbrella when it's raining.

The most startling, to me at least, is the extraordinary support for both birtherism and Rush among self-ID’d Tea Party members in all three states. They reject Obama’s U.S. nativity by margins of 56/25 in OH, 62/22 in TN, and 54/24 in GA. Tea Folk also do not seem to share the issues with Limbaugh’s slut-shaming, approving of him by margins of 73/11 in OH, 72/12 in TN, and 69/14 in GA. Evangelicals are just as likely as Tea Folk (with whom, of course, they overlap greatly) to be birthers (50/25 in OH, 53/24 in TN, and 50/25 in GA); but do support Rush a bit less (54/23 in OH, 51/26 in TN, and 53/25 in GA). Indeed, it’s probable the varying sizes of the evangelical segment of the electorate (43% in OH, 66% in TN and 55% in GA) largely explain the statewide variations on these questions.

The other number that jumps out from the crosstabs are pretty notable generational splits. 18-45 year-olds reject birtherism by 54/27 in OH and 48/28 in GA, though in heavily evangelical TN they favor it 46/37. Over-65 voters are big birtherists everywhere: 44/34 in OH, 52/28 in TN and 47/30 in GA. Younger voters only narrowly approve of Rush in all three states, while over-65s give him near-majority support.

I never cared for heavy metal music, but I loved the album and liked the movie.

The Los Angeles Times describes impersonator Steve Bridges as the actor who impersonated President George W. Bush. Most recently, Bridges impersonated President Obama. Bridges was 48 and is said to have died of “natural causes.” It’s strange that two young men — Andrew Breitbart and Bridges — both died from “natural causes” and both were associated with President Obama in some way.

It’s strange that a number of articles do not mention that Bridges also impersonated Obama. I found it curious. In fact, a lot of press releases led with him being a Bush impersonator, which he was. Bush embraced Bridges. In 2006, he appeared alongside the real President George W. Bush at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, mimicking the president by voicing the president’s inner thoughts during Bush’s presidential speech.

Then are some sites that claim that Obama was “offended.” There’s no way to verify this claim. Anyway, here’s a clip of Bridges doing his Obama impersonation. Keep in mind that Bridges is white:
