They took her "evidence." They set it up so she could appeal. What more could she ask? Oh wait, they told her to get a Real Attorney. An Indiana attorney, no less.

Problem is that a Real Attorney will call her evidence what it is. Pure bullshit. O'rly knows this.

Media has more important things to do. Such as coverage of a fireman rescuing a cat from a tree.

Someday Orly's careful attention to detail will slip up, and she will make a really big mistake.

Orly, in her infinite attention to detail, initially posts an incorrect web address for the IN legislature. Immediately, a new conspiracy is created by her flying monkeys... (and this after the first poster had corrected the bad addy ](*,) )

This is becoming so “set-up” by the gov that is is beginning to look like a child is playing the cards. So ridiculous is the refusal to look at the facts presented. A child who puts their fingers in their ears and screams “I’m NOT listening” – this is the type of behavior our government has resorted to display.

Guess Indiana legislature is ashamed of themselves, because the video of the proceedings comes up “File not found.”

And the Indiana rules permit such appointments regardless of any position held in a political party. That is why there are 2 from each party. None of the Hoosiers wanted anything to do with Orly (except her clients). The chairperson of the Romney campaign was the chairman for the board. He heard the case against Santorum and ruled frothy is still afloat in the state along with Sen Lugar.

They don't truck with much bullshit though. Indiana is a conservative state from what I can see. They have had plenty of KLan activity over the years etc. What passes for professional conduct when dealing with mania in Indiana is different then California.
THEN to have this obnoxious CALIFORNIA attorney from the LEFT COAST blow into town trying to practice law without a license. Based on the reactions of the attorneys on this board, I would have to say the 4 attorneys making up the board weren't in the best mood. It had been a long morning. This was complaint D. The Lugar hearing was a good example of the board functioning as it should. 4-0 Lugar stays. Sen Lugar had 3 previous attorneys general in Indiana provide legal opinions as to his status. He is on official business for the state of Indiana. He gets to keep his Indiana License and license plates, oh yeah he can run for another term. Sen Lugar does know how to cover his ass better than most.

Mr. Leghorn -

When one transforms from an individual with a passion to the leader of a group of individuals with a passion, the (usually thankless and many times unintended) position in a very real way distracts from said leader's ability to enjoy said passion. It's one paradox of leadership.

Thank you for providing this forum, that we all may share your passion.

I got the distinct impression that the Commission wasn't sure how they were going to handle this matter and, as a result, didn't follow their normal routines and procedures. In some ways they allowed themselves to be sucked in. Particularly telling was the motion to deny admissability of Orly's "evidence" followed by the corrective action after the five minute recess to allow the materials to be included in the record even though they didn't qualify it as evidence. And then the chair gave Orly her ten minutes of presentation time. Clearly, the Chair of the Commission had gotten procedural advice from counsel during the recess.

I got a very different impression. From the beginning, they showed they had been preparing for this group who themselves did not present themselves in a routine or normal fashion. They introduced a person speak for them who was notorious for using proceedings of all kinds to get media attention by smearing Obama. The person started off with several instances of perjury which prompted a warning. Commissioner Riordan asked the clerk to repeat the routine statement about admitting submissions into evidence and then asked that they NOT be admitted until they knew what they were. The chair nodded and said they would be 'lodged' until they had reviewed them. After Commissioner Riordan went through the stack of 'evidence' and gave descriptions and reasons that it was NOT admissible evidence, the rest of the panel agreed with her assessment. The chairman stated that they would be 'lodged' so that the record could be used if they want to take it to court for review.

Clearly, these were the normal procedures for handling situations like this. It was not so different from the way they handled the Lugar case. The big difference was that they had evidence that Lugar had used an address for voting and DMV that was not his. Again, the panel said they would have to take that information to a different venue and that it was irrelevant to his qualifying as a candidate for Senator.

The recess was called because the chair was losing control of the meeting due to provocative outbursts. That's when they decided shrouding was the best way to proceed, get it over and vote as fast as possible. Other than the response to O'rly when she accused the Republican chairman of covering up for Obama's crimes, their handling of the matter seemed routine. How could he not have been provoked or how could he handled that moment better? How much is one required to take of being accused of crimes and covering for crimes from a notorious 'witness' violating too many norms and rules to count?

She -- and this will come as a surprise -- misspoke.

She meant the GOP Spring Convention, of course. On their agenda (and I challenge you to find it -- the state GOP site seems to have removed everything related to the convention from their site):

Quote:
4 p.m. Nomination of Candidates for
 CRP National Committeeman & Committeewoman

So I'm sure they'll be delighted to learn about her candidacy for US Senate during that session.

The Newtster's due to speak there in 90 minutes. I wonder if he and Orly will have an opportunity for another heart-to-heart.

So when four politically savvy (and generally fair minded) connected pols in Indiana decided they would not allow hateful, calumnious and outrageous claims to be made in their presence -- or to be personally abused by a seditionist lying bitch from hell -- and pushed back, well all I have to say is hallelujah!

I do not think the commissioners who were hearing Taitz had to put up with any of it. They called the lying hateful bitch out. Good for them.

I also want to thank Loh for a terrific (and fashionable) view from the scene. And Woodworker for an exhaustive if somewhat prolix exegesis of the legal issues.

As for the troll, well I no longer care. I will never read anything else this person posts. He attempted to fuck up an interesting and important thread with either his birther-solicitous or performance art conduct, and he should be ashamed of himself. It was not a pretty thing to pull on this thread.
