Loh, many thanks for braving the trenches on behalf of the consortium, and for providing your report. :-bd

What great fun it was to listen to this smackdown. Count me in a a Hoosier for the day. =D>

The next time she carpet-bombs a state and barges in on a ballot hearing, the next line of questions I'd like to asked:

Quote:
You've submitted voluminous transcipts and materials you represent as testimony and evidence admitted in a court proceeding in Georgia. Did that proceeding result in a judge or jury reaching formal findings of fact? ...pause, blather...Did it result in opinion or ruling? (If so...) Why didn't you include the court's findings of fact in your bundle of paper?

Isn't it true, Dr. Taitz, that the judge found your evidence to be unpersuasive and lacking in probative value? Isn't it true, Dr. Taitz, that the judge refused to qualify your so-called experts as experts within the meaning of the rules of evidence?

It's a simple strangle hold from which Orly has no painless way out.

I'm sure going to stay tuned!

Watched the video...then had to watch it again. All I can say is that it's too bad Saturday Night Live isn't following this stuff.

What I think is really interesting is observing how impatient and downright angry the members of the Commission were. They clearly considered this whole matter a waste of their time. For me, this is suggestive of the backlash we can expect, should the birther movement persist into other venues. The public has just cause to be angry about how public resources are being wasted on these frivilous and meritless matters.

Frankly, it's time for the nearly 70 million American citizens who elected Mr. Obama to the Presidency to start exercising their right to righteous indignation over this nonsense.

Listened closely to all of the comments that guy in the purple shirt made to Orly during the 5 min break - wow.

"Hell is going to be a hot place" Er, yes. Yes it is. Enjoy!

"Can't we just certify the SS #? That's all we need to do, right?" Good luck with that.

"It's all over youtube, they have the Kenyan ambassador saying he is a Kenyan" Yes because saying something on Youtube = the final truth of everything.

"How do these people sleep at night?" Pretty well, thanks. We imagine you aren't so lucky.

Nice work, ALL. You certainly have more patience than I would with her b*s*. Not only that, she didn't even deserve your Brooks Brothers suit and tie with salmon asteroids. :D

Deleted because I realized the post I was responding to was posted about 15 pages ago and had almost certainly been talked to death in the meantime.

The one I loved was "all we have to do is get an expert to testify right, then it's a done deal"

Well yes, that is all you have to do, and you know a real fucking lawyer would have had a real expert lined up for the fucking hearing, not bringing it up as an afterthought in the middle of a fucking hearing. If ever there was proof of Orly's utter incompetence then it is there, in that brief exchange writ large.

The public has just cause to be angry about how the judicial system is being used for purposes of the worst kind of political propaganda and charges of criminal acts without proof or evidence. This abuse continues with impunity. If sanctions are not applied, it will just encourage more of this kind of abuse of the electoral process and the judicial system in the future.

Ah, but see, we know what Orly will do, Piffle. But what she is counting on is that, in any hearing that she goes to, the Commission members will not. So, at least starting off, they will treat her with the respect they accord to all petitioners, letting her jump in and immediately take over the hearing to drive it off into her ditch.

Even if the chairman is able to regain some control, as this one did today with a 5-minute recess, she's gotten a chance to do what this is all about -- rouse the rabble, get some media buzz, and build up her "I was mistreated, they're all corrupt thugs" narrative.

I would dearly love to have a well-prepared commissioner question her, under oath, and especially follow through with the reference to a prosecutor when she commits perjury. One reason that she does, every time, is that she has never been held accountable for what she says under oath.

I'm even losing faith in Jill Nagamine. Everyone always seems to be so relieved to see the last of her that they just let her walk out and hope she doesn't come back.

Thanks for your first hand account, Loh. I particularly enjoyed getting some color commentary on the scene you experienced.

I have to say, it's fairly obvious that Orly Taitz has some serious mental health issues that need to be addressed as soon as possible and I find myself in a state of emotional empathy for her, hoping she seeks and finds that professional help dealing with her mental illness.

This has always been my core belief about her - she is mentally ill.

Thank you internet and the small world we now live in! Prior to this great web we all love and the ability to communicate easily now worldwide, people like Orly would either be confined to the remote rural local where she could spout her derangements to the local fauna - or would end up where they really needed to be - committed to a mental facility. Instead, we now have people like Pam Gellar, PornStache, and Orly loose on the world with many folks taking them to be legitimate human beings with brains in their heads. :P

What a great report Loh! :D

You really did a fantastic job! Realizing that there was the video, you concentrated on the other stuff. Just LOVED it! Down to what you wore. :-bd

Really, a really great and humorous report! =D>

There is nothing unfair or partial in dismissing facially obvious nonsense. While we believe in this country that everyone has a right to their say, there is no requirement for anyone to take them seriously when the quality of their argument does not warrant it. Or put another way, everyone has a right to their ideas, but not all ideas are equally right.

It is a characteristic of cranks to want to play under a rule that all ideas should carry equal weight, but that's absurd. We can't stop the world every time some crank repeats the same nonsense as the day before.

Grab a copy of Charles Pierce's book, Idiot America for more.
