Sharon was a no show on her BTR program tonight. I must have been a two box night after the ILSBOE meeting today.

Well, yesterday was Ash Wednesday. Maybe Marooni gave up birfin', overt racism and bigotry for Lent. [-o<

Or maybe the scheduled agenda topics ran long, truncating the public comment portion, and Marooni--in righteous protest--refused to leave the room until they'd heard her **explosive** report, so she's still there (no one else is, of course, but she is). Or maybe she started in on her **explosive** report, and 15 seconds into it, the Board cut her off, reminded her that they had hard copy of the **explosive** report, didn't require an oral recap, and had no questions, TYVM, and she's embarrassed by the contrast between the hype she put out ("invited" to speak, negotiated hard for more time, sooooo exciting, ya'll come, blah, blah) and the reality (informed of the public commentary portion of the meeting at which anyone may speak for a few minutes, each commenter limited to a few minutes, no crowd of her "supporters" showed up) and she's working on the lies and spin that makes her the wronged party in this matter instead of the stink bomb in the room.

Sharon's new bestie posted about her day:
Quote:
HillBuzz Open Thread: Thursday February 23rd, 2012
Posted on February 23, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Featured Content, Open Threads

Yesterday, Sharon Meroni of Defend the Vote testified before the Board of Elections here in Illinois. I’ll have a full report on it later, but two things happened that were absolutely gobsmacking:

1. The Board vehemently and aggressively tried to prevent Sharon and others from Defend the Vote from videotaping the hearing — even though the Open Meeting Act here in Illinois protects the rights of citizens to record meetings like this. One Board member actually said, with a straight face, “We can’t have these things taped…we might say something stupid they’ll get on camera!”. After a spat of several minutes, the General Counsel for the Board of Elections stepped in and reminded the Board that video taping is allowed. “Well, I guess we don’t have to like it. So I’m not going to say anything in the meeting then”, one Board Member said.

2. At one point, after Sharon called the Board on the carpet for instances of the dead voting in Illinois, electronic voting fraud, and ballot tampering, the Chair actually said to Sharon — also with a straight face — that “there’s nothing we can do about any of this because we don’t have any money to stop the fraud”.

Do you realize that the Board of Elections pays its members high salaries for sitting on the Board? The Chair receives $58,000 for attending this monthly meeting; the Vice Chair makes $49,000; the regular Board Members (including one man who slept through most of the meeting) make $37,000. Add all that up, plus their expense accounts, and you have several hundred thousand dollars that could certainly go towards stopping at least SOME voter fraud in the state of Illinois.

I musta taken a nap sometime cuz I don't remember seeing where Merooni found anybody voted who wasn't supposed to. :-? I don't recall her finding one dead person who voted.

You don't think Sharon would make that up, do you?

I've seen 'em just get the white box marked "White Wine". She's pining to have MD20/20 in a box.

If that's an accurate quote I bet it was an aside, and I think I know who he was referring to as 'the fraud.'

A wonderful New Yorker cartoon is of a large tanker truck with the logo "Cheap Red Wine." It is probably now possible to obtain household-size propane tanks and convert them to the storage of that wine, filled monthly by that tanker truck. For some of those wines, they could make a stop at both your house and the discount gasoline station.

Now I wish I had gone to the meeting just to verify the ISBOE members had a hissy fit over videoing and the chairman's comment about not having any money to do anything about voting fraud. They televised it Springfield so why would they object to taping? Makes no sense. It's already recorded for posterity. Unless of course the Meroni press caravan was shoving cameras into their faces, then I could understand their reluctance.

This is why we try to have boots on the ground whenever there is birther action. They lie and lie and lie, so if we want to know the truth we need to attend.

I bet the ISBOE recorded it. Just don't know if they'll let you listen to it until after the primary. They're swamped with every crazy election violation claim imaginable right now. They're so busy stomping on flaming poop bags right now, they can't accommodate a normal request.

Yeah...although I'm seriously missing processed meat already (gave it up for Lent, so my breakfast is now bacon- and sausage-less; there are no deli sandwiches in my lunch bucket;and no 'dogs or 'brats comin' my way at the All Star game this weekend  ).

Anyhoo, it looks like I was wrong about Marooni giving up her nasty habits and attitudes for Lent. Of course, as she indicated a few years back, she left the Catholic Church because it was socially concious and concerned (you know, about folks of all races, colors, and accents), and because Glenn Beck told her that wouldn't do. I guess now that she's turned her back on the Catholic Church, Lent is just the season (or the excuse) to double down on her particular brand of ugliness.

Looks like the dead voter society claims will be debunked on the Ed Show in a few minutes. Stay tuned or tune in. Maybe that's why she hasn't peeped today.

Would there be some way for someone to check the tapes in Springfield and see if they reflect anything like what HillBuzz is claiming? I just canNOT imagine someone so brain dead as to explain that they can't let the general population to film in the room because someone might say something stupid and then there'd be footage of it. Um. Sure. Right.

TW, why don't you find out for us. :D

*******************************

Merooni is still promising the video, "as soon as we can process it in the next couple of days."

I guess that means after she edits out all the parts she doesn't want people to see. Because, what's to process? She sez they were permitted to speak for 30 minutes. Yeah? Then put it up.

Quote:
On Wednesday, I learned quite a bit about why Illinois has problems with elections.

There is a lot of news that happened in that 30 minutes we were permitted to speak and the 30 minutes that followed. I guess what really stunned me is realizing just what a dark hole elections in Illinois really are. This is not a statement founded in naïveté, but one made from a staffing perspective. My background in executive search and consulting has provided me the opportunity to study the structure of a variety of businesses. I see in the Illinois State Board of Elections a stagnant cesspool of uninspired and sluggish actors. It is much worse then I realized.

Just put up the 30 minutes. How hard is that?

I hope someone in the Illinois State Board of Elections sees that she believes them to be "a stagnant cesspool of uninspired and sluggish actors".

Sharon is taking a cue from Obly on 'How To Win Friends and Influence People'.

And howz that working out for Merooni?

Quote:
But the good news is we spent yesterday, and will continue today, following up. The Board (Chairman William McGuffage) sent us to the Attorney General. They graciously took the calls and promptly informed us they do not have any jurisdiction. (RE: Mary Bacaro: Public Integrity Unit) There are several agencies with inter-lapping jurisdictions and responsibilities. Ms. Bacaro referred us to others...

We are also working with the Mayor's office and were promised prompt follow-up.

Everyone tells us to go back to the Chicago Board of Elections. Lance Gough has promised to schedule us to speak to the Board, but he does not follow through. On Wednesday, James Allen (Communications Director for the CBOE) instructed me to attend the Chicago Board of Elections meeting on Tuesday. He stated we could speak during the public session.

there's more here:
http://www.defendthevote.com/8-ballot-i ... believable

Anyway, you can bet we won't see the unedited video.
