I'm talking print on demand, not self-publish. I don't think you're locked into printing a minimum quantity if you use a print on demand service like lulu or blurb. It gets expensive if you want to buy an ISBN etc.

BTW, now I'm going to have to buy Bill's books coz he's intrigued me.

I noticed the ranking for Miki's book leaped up from approximately 270,000+ yesterday to 132,000 today. I wonder how many books she sold to change the rankings that much. I think Miki needs to thank the Obots like the folks here and Orly's World for generating enough excitement and outrage among her followers and/or fellow birthers that they feel they must buy her book in order to defend her (and their) honor.

Only best-selling authors sell that much in one day. Usually on the first day the book is available. I wonder how many books ATLAH or some other group purchased on her behalf to help her save face.

All this talk about the finances of Miki's vanity book is making me wonder about Lakin. Could it be that pre-sales have not covered the cost of printing the book? It was supposed to be out a while ago.

I guess there aren't too many people eager to line up to buy a book that might as well be entitled: FUCKUP: The Tale of How I Broke the Law, Threw Away My Life and Became a Convict.

If I want to read their words, why buy a book when I can go to their blogs for free? I believe in charity but I'm not going to fork over my money to support these hateful people. Now if the money helped shield the rest of society from their racism, anti- anyone who doesn't believe like I do and so on, I'd be glad to give. Instead, I'd much rather put my money towards offsetting the costs of buying things like court transcripts or supporting the operation of this forum which gives open minded, educated people with a real love of freedom a place to meet and exchange view points without attacks from hordes of flying monkeys. I know, I'm just silly that way. Clearly I'm a simple sheeple supping silly soup. (I wish I had a way with words like Phiffle, Verbalobe and others.)

Two days later, and Miki's rankings have almost dropped to what they were Friday. I find it interesting to see what the effect of the sales of 2, maybe 3 books had on Miki's rankings. I wouldn't has thought that 2 or 3 books could cause such a drastic change in rankings. Perhaps it's simply that when you get down below a ranking of 100,000 plus that folks are closely grouped together plus sales have pretty much stagnated so a small number of sales can have a bigger impact at this level than when you get nearer the top. Just a thought and a little bit of schadenfreude at Miki's expense.

She included a link to Victoria Jackson's lame "Politichicks" show that whined about being given the cold shoulder at CPAC when they asked about the "muslim brotherhood".

Some years ago (1941-45) We had all kinds of nasty names for the American Citizens of Japanese descent, green card Japanese, and naturalized citizens of America - not to mention the lexicon of names promoted in the movies, kartoons, songs (A tisket a tasket put Tojo in a casket).
It sounds like Miki is trying to bring back those days of yesteryear. I thought we went through the crazy 60s to try to fix some of that.

Funny you should say that. As I was laying in bed this morning getting mentally and physically prepared for the day, Miki popped into my head. Miki was born a around 1948 in Japan to a Japanese mother. That means that members of Miki's family were actively supporting the war against America. We do not know how many of Miki's male relatives on her mother's side were members of the military and if they killed any Americans. We do not know if her mother, her female relatives or older male relatives worked in factories building munitions, planes or other items that were used to fight and kill Americans? Unlike the Muslims Miki so hates where only a small percentage of Muslims have been involved, Miki's Japanese relatives who were alive and living in Japan during WWII, had to have played some part in the Japanese war machine.

Kinda surprises me that Mikki admits that Islam is protected by the First Amendment.

I was looking at some of the comments on Miki's book and I noticed one person who made some negative comments is now being blocked by Amazon. I wonder how many of Miki's supporters complained to Amazon simply because they didn't like the comments. I wonder how many other folks they are trying to get banned? We all know that Miki and other birthers will quickly ban anyone from their sites who is not a card carrying birther.

For that matter, look at some of the political cartoons that Theodor Geisel penned during WWII - there's an amazing amount of anti-Japanese material in there, particularly when it comes from someone who was condemning racism against blacks and Jews at the same time. And, yes, I'm talking about Dr. Seuss.

Miki should thank those OCTPAW because now no one is going to look at her book because she had her supporters report anyone who made less than glowing reviews and got them banned. With no one left to "attack" and with no real interest in Miki's book, there is nothing to draw people to look at her book. Since she gave away almost $3000 worth of her books at CPAC, she's deeper in debt than she was when she spent $10,000 (some borrowed) on a vanity press. I wonder if she sold enough books to even cover that extra $3000. Normally, I never wish ill on others, but Miki and Orly bring the worst out in me because not only are they hateful, they willing attack others, like the owner of Miki's local bookstore whose only sin was to decide not to carry Miki's book.

I just noticed that 4 of the 6 "1 star" reviews were moved to the Hardcover version review section. A few days ago, all 16 reviews of the book were posted in the Kindle review section. Now, 4 of the "1 star" reviews have been moved, giving the Kindle version 4.5 stars instead of 3-3.5 stars.

I just emailed Amazon about this issue. Any of you who reviewed the book may want to see if your review was moved. The Hardcover is only available on Amazon when requested, and was only made available a week ago. There is no way for a non-birther to have received the Hardcover and review it in this amount of time. One of the Hardcover reviewers mentioned in a comment section of a Kindle review that s/he had only read the Kindle preview. S/he never purchased the book. Why was her/his review moved?

Until recently, the Hardcover was only available on Miki's website and at CPAC.
