MCSO: Obama fanatic threatens to kill Arpaio

PHOENIX -- A "fanatical supporter" of President Barack Obama is the prime suspect in an investigation into an Internet death threat against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Adam Eugene Cox, 33, was arrested in Tennessee Friday on an unrelated warrant for assault.

In that threat, Cox stated Arpaio and his family would be killed, according to MCSO. His postings read, in part: "I plan to kill Arpaio first. He will be filled with a thousand bullet holes before the year is out. I promise you this. He won’t [expletive] with Obama. He will be buried 10 feet under and his whole family will be murdered along with him."

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said the suspect's postings indicate he is an avid supporter of Obama and that Arpaio's ongoing investigation into the legitimacy of the president's birth certificate may be behind the death threat.

Cox's mother confirmed her son is a fanatical supporter of Obama, according to MCSO officials. Knoxville deputies said Cox has a history of assault.

"I will not be intimated against pursuing this investigation into Obama's eligibility to serve as the president of the United States," Arpaio said.

At Google's headquarters in California, deputies served a separate search warrant involving a different threat against Arpaio related to the recent shooting death of Maricopa County sheriff's deputy William Coleman.

The Justice Department has written a very pointed letter to a lawyer for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, telling him that they’ll sue Maricopa County Sheriffs Office very soon unless they go forward with negotiations to settle issues regarding the office’s alleged pattern of civil rights abuses.

DOJ and MCSO officials are supposed to meet on Feb. 6, but Deputy Assistant Attorney General Roy Austin wrote in a letter to Arpaio’s lawyer on Thursday that if the purpose of the meeting “is solely for you to tell us in person that you do not agree with our findings, there is no reason for us to meet.”

An extensive investigation by the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division found that Arpaio had “promoted a culture of bias” within MCSO. Arpaio’s team has been disputing their findings and Arpaio has said the probe is all just part of the Obama administration’s re-election bid even though the investigation began during the Bush administration.

"When I took this mission on, I took it on to possibly be able to clear the president," Apraio said during a speech in Maricopa County, where he serves as sheriff. "I was doing him a favor. We'll see what happens."

Uh-oh... are Corsi and Arpaio backpedaling here?

Two days ago Jerry told us Joe would be announcing "the findings of the first official law-enforcement investigation into the questions surrounding Barack Obama’s constitutional eligibility for office," and that WND would "make available to the public, the same day by e-mail, the official report distributed to media by Arpaio’s “Cold Case Posse."

But today, in another article Jerry casually mentions that, no, at the conference Joe only "plans to release the preliminary results of his office’s Cold Case Posse investigation of Barack Obama’s birth certificate and his eligibility to be president."

Hmmmmm....

To be fair, what WND originally reported was "Arpaio said a comprehensive report will be issued shortly after the February preliminary report."

It was only a "preliminary" report that was scheduled for February, although they never quite explained what the distinction would be.

Might want to change the title of this thread. Definitely don't need the question mark anymore. And I'm not sure "appeases" is the right word for the nonsense we just witnessed.
