Okay, so I am not especially proud to claim Terry Lakin, Marco whatshisname, KBOA or Theresa Cao for my state, but I will proudly say that our house passed a same sex marriage bill today that will have no trouble passing our Senate and will be signed by the governor!

See, Maryland isn't that bad!

You know, there are crazies everywhere. I wouldn't sweat to too much.

But yeah, great news about the bill! The tide of history is moving in that direction - it is inevitable. Probably good to be on the leading edge. So MD will be #8, right?

Every such law is another step closer to equality. My dad lives in Maryland; Maru knows him well. I guarantee at least one 84 year old is happy about this law and supports it 100%.

Awesome news from neonzx yesterday about military benefits, too. We're moving in the right direction, no doubt.

Edit: And Maru, you don't need to claim Holy Cao. She lives in D.C.

True about Holy Cao, but I have to claim Racer Jim. :(

But I am happy to make the claim that now the MD senate has passed the bill and the Governor will sign it. And I had to be told this by realist, halfway across the country. Watching trash tv vs news. Oops.

Which just exposes the states that passed "constitutional amendments" barring these marriages as even more obnoxious.

If I won a really big lottery (I don't even play) I'd fund any couple that wanted to challenge one of those hairball amendments.

Good on Maryland though, they've evolved more than the governor of New Jersey.
