s have objected to this format, it's what PACER uses.

The motion seems valid to me and, IMO, is fairly likely to be granted, unless the court is impatient with the fairly numerous motions to continue that Huff has already filed.

Darren Wesley Huff, 41, of Dallas, Ga., faces sentencing today in U.S. District Court for ferrying guns across state lines in what authorities allege was a plot in April 2010 to take over the Monroe County courthouse in East Tennessee.

It is a law passed in the turbulent 1960s designed to quell dangerous acts of civil disobedience. It has never been applied in the federal Eastern District of Tennessee in modern times and, if case law is an indication, rarely, if ever, nationwide in recent history.

So obscure is the charge in today's society that the U.S. Sentencing Commission, which prescribes penalty ranges for various federal crimes, offers U.S. District Judge Tom Varlan no guidance on even a starting point for Huff's punishment.

Falsehoods unchallenged only fester and grow.
