Palin is ignorant, deliberately ignorant for sure, but she's not dumb. "Folksy, Genuine, All-American Sarah" is an act. She's sneaky, conniving, underhanded and disloyal. I think Moore nailed the real Palin the McCain campaign came to know.

Bingo.

Based on the trailer, I think Moore is going to be brilliant as Palin. It is just hard to see Moore play such a "sneaky, conniving, underhanded and disloyal" character.

Game Change is going to be good.

There are 2 more clips at HBO.

Ah, but she was great in An Ideal Husband as Mrs. Cheavely.

Quote:
If Lady Chiltern is the good angel of feminine modernity, Mrs. Cheveley is the dark angel. She's as Machiavellian and power-hungry as they come. Independence is her god. She may have to be married for economic reasons, but she won't conform to the role of a traditional wife. "Romance should never begin with sentiment," she says, "It should begin with science and end with a settlement" (3.101). In her mind, the best are those mutually back-scratching arrangements, such as she had with Baron Arnheim. She provided him with sex, he provided her with money. She's hoping for something equally streamlined and mutually beneficial with Lord Goring.

Sound like anyone we know?

Love me some Oscar Wilde, Jeremy Northam, and Rupert Everett. Minnie Driver was horribly dressed and miscast.

Anyone who can look at Sarah Palin and not think "Mean Girl" must have dropped out of school before junior high.

Influence of Palin and the Tea Party Wanes in Early Contests

The photo caption says: "Sarah Palin no longer commands the kind of media attention she once did."

Quote:
snip.....

Just over three months later, her attempts to wield influence in the presidential campaign the way she did during the 2010 midterm elections have largely fizzled.

snip.....

If for no other reason, rage against the machine, vote for Newt. Annoy a liberal. Vote Newt. Keep this vetting process going, keep the debate going,” Ms. Palin said on Fox News two days before Tuesday’s primary in Florida. [Wow, Sarah, what profound reasons you give for voting for Newt!]

snip.....

The results could reflect in part the lack of wall-to-wall coverage of Ms. Palin these days. She continues to have a perch at Fox News and millions of followers on her Facebook page, but as the 2012 campaign has heated up, she no longer commands the kind of attention that she once did.

But it may also signal that the Tea Party movement is no longer able to exert the kind of sway that it did during the primary campaigns two years ago.

snip.....

“If I had to vote in South Carolina, in order to keep this thing going, I’d vote for Newt and I would want this to continue,” Ms. Palin said. A spokesman for Mr. Gingrich chose to embrace Ms. Palin’s comments as a full-throated endorsement.

snip.....

Video here

Quote:
snip.....

Ms. Palin said that in her view, Mr. Gingrich won Monday’s debate in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She hedged her praise somewhat by suggesting she was going with Mr. Gingrich to prolong the Republican contest — in other words, to head off the inevitability of Mitt Romney’s coronation should he win handily in South Carolina. She said that a longer race meant more debates and more vetting of candidates, something that did not occur as it should have, in her view, with President Obama.

“I want to see this thing continue because iron sharpens iron, steel sharpens steel,’’ Ms. Palin said, framed against a rugged Alaska backdrop where such metaphors presumably come naturally. “These guys are getting better in their debates, they’re getting more concise, they’re getting more grounded in what their beliefs are and articulating what their ideas are to get the country back on the right track and get Americans working again.’’

Sarah blathers on about the lack of vetting of President Obama. Palin criticisms Obama's vetting?!!

What a maroon!

I wonder if she actually is blissfully unaware that McCain stupidly choosing her as VP is now regarded as the #1 "Failure to Vet a VP nominee who then turns out to be crazy" catastrophe in modern history, easily displacing McGovern's choice of Eagleton.

She's been preened, primped, pimped, coached, spruced up, lipsticked.... but sometimes a fixer-upper is just a fixer-upper. Double-meow.

Does anyone not think the 'optics' for her glistening red-silk-draped boobage was not studied beforehand? Triple-meow.

And still that voice. Which still, gratingly, manages to say nothing more than "I'm a zero."

As long as I don't remember all the moronic things she has ever said and done, I think she's kind of adorable.

I suppose that's wrong of me.

Every time she opens up her pie hole, she reminds us all why Republican women want to look like her, Republican men want to bang her, and nobody wants her as president.

listeme, girlfriend, if you ever have thoughts she's kinda cute, watch this video. Blessed by Pastor Muthee against witchcraft. Also, too, compare her hands in the video to the way she holds her hands in her CPAC speech. Even her gestures are crafted to send a message to the faithful. She's a dangerous Dominionist. If it weren't for her mental illness (whatever it is, LM K has insights) keeping her from being stable from day to day, she'd be at the top of the GOP list. Steve Schmidt would agree it probably took months of careful preparation and control to get her ready to perform this weekend.

OK, I took one for the team and visited the sea-o'-pee. Here's what that CPAC appearance was all about:

They're gonna need to pull out the Jeb to save this party.

After "Game Change" premieres on March 10 on HBO, and Steve Schmidt and Nicolle Wallace confirm on TV that the portrayal of Palin in the movie is accurate, she is again brunt toast, unelectable even as dog catcher. She will, however, remain a figure for the far right. I think we'll next see her as a televangelist.

The Lawd did give Palin a few assets. Too bad that critical thinking skills were not among them.

Oh, I know, I really do. I think she's a despicable person. Luckily she opens her mouth and destroys all illusion of cuteness. I won't be ensnared.

My pretend girl crush would be on Rachel anyway. Gorgeous, smart, AND good.
