Yes , that's the same organisation.

Seems to have been founded by some republicans with a particular interest in offshore oil exploration. Interesting cached "who's who" from 2007 here.

Here's a more succint version of the content Hollrah's Sonaran News article...

"David Welden thought that the US Constitution and legal precedent dictate that anyone born in USA without two US citizen parents is not a 'natural born citizen'. He was wrong."

Thank you. I'll be here all week. If anyone wants a copy of my 'back of a postage stamp' summary of all of Orly Taitz' eligibility cases I'll forward it after you cross my paypal button with silver. :P

Phil at RSOL is also fond of this game. He recently wrote:

An unused mind is a terrible blight of ignorance on the face of humanity. Quit wallowing in intellectual bankruptcy. Take a chance on being wrong — or right. Use your own mind.

I can "take a chance" on whether covering the cat in raspberry jam is a good idea, but I don't need to actually do it to know that it is not.

The motto of RSOL is, "But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good" (1 Thes. 5:21). Birthers love the first half (question everything), but ignore the second half (acknowledge the truth).

I do like (wrong word but hard to pick a right one) when you have an issue that gets someone so upset that they reveal their true nature.

On one of the recent freep threads on the Georgia case, bushpilot1 has gone full racist is arguing that only those descended from the original citizens of the United States can be natural born, and posting quotes from the founding fathers about their preference for whites etc, asking people whether they believe the founding fathers actually intended for a black person to ever be President.

Some of the birthers are getting so worked up about this they're forgetting that they're supposed to pretend this isn't about race.

Given the fact that the recent Georgia Judges ruling in threw the constitution under the buss – “in Obama’s favor” – do you really think this is just a coincidence?

And it looks like overt, unvarnished racism is something else that FreeRepublic won't tolerate. bushpilot1 has been zotted.

So the short list of things that will get you banned from FreeRepublic: 1) Opposing Birtherism, 2) Supporting Romney, and 3) Saying only white people should be President.

The Supreme Court case Minor v. Happersett (1875) was cited in the recent Georgia ballot challenge hearing. Many jurists agree that it provides the exclusive definition for the Constitution's "natural born citizen" clause, which is a requirement for the presidency.

And this gem

Quote:
But a 14th-Amendment citizen is not necessarily a natural born citizen. Contrary to 14th-Amendment jurisprudence, the requirement of sole allegiance to the United States from birth onward has never been stricken from the Constitution's eligibility clause.

I wish he would get a hold of Tisdale and help him with his appeal.

I like that he includes the line "Contrary to 14th Amendment jurisprudence..." In other words, "Even though every single existing court decision and analysis says otherwise..."

Keep hoping, birthers.

Opposing Birtherism won't (necessarily) get you zotted. I post a lot on the eligibility threads at FR, and I am not the only member of the anti-birther "Sanity Squad."

I was very much hoping this would stay the Georgia thread, so I exercised the Jablonski Empty Chair Technique®, stayed away from posting anything, and mirabile dictu the highjackings all went away.

Wondrous things the Jablonski Empty Chair Technique® will do.

Yes,that may well be. But what you haven't considered is that if you had just jumped in instead of staying away at your own peril you might have made the whole hijack not happen, just with your presence.

I reached the end of the thread! Yay!

I have a question, which I asked several hundred pages back, but I don't recall seeing an answer.

Do we know whether or not an actual, fresh, certified COLB was ever sent to Malihi or Kemp? I believe it was asserted on good authority that it was, but has that ever been confirmed?

It seems likely, given that one was submitted in one of the Illinois challenges, right?

There has been no official confirmation.
