http://dailycaller.com/2012/02/08/holde ... -ban-guns/

I was under the impression that there were no plans to ban guns. I tend to think this article is bullshit, but I'm not quite sure.

They give his answer, but don't give the question that was asked. :-?

And assault weapons are guns "that law-abiding Americans use every day for self-defense, hunting, and recreational and competitive target shooting"? :-?

I note the article was written "By Chris Cox, Executive Director, National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action"

I think Chris shovels BS.

Pres Obama has too much other shit to fix before he bans guns.

He is in favor of weapons. He deployed a marshmallow cannon at the White House science fair.

I get Chris Cox's stuff all the time from the NRA and NRAs Legislative Action arm. They hate Obama and Holder. ( :-k )

They grab any fragment or scrap of anything, and spin, spin, spin.

Holder wrote:
This administration has consistently favored the reinstitution of the assault weapons ban...

In other words, Holder reiterated a well-known position about reinstating an Clinton-era law.

Cox wrote:
It’s difficult to follow Holder’s logic here, but it goes something like this …

Then Cox concocts an elaborate strawman, pretending that Holder's position is specifically to "use 'Fast and Furious' to further the Obama administration’s gun-ban agenda." I can practically guarantee that even if there were an overarching 'gun-ban agenda' (which there isn't), nobody would be using 'Fast and Furious' (whether it had been a successful program or not) to 'further' it. It makes no sense and I'm sure Holder said nothing of the sort.

Cox wrote:
...all Americans deserve to know how and why their government purposefully allowed thousands of guns to flow into the hands of murderous Mexican drug cartels. The family of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry deserves to know why two of these guns were found at the scene of Terry’s murder.

Well, we know exactly how and why, don't we? Cox pretends there is some great secret, so that he can feed the narrative that Holder/Obama hate Americans like Brian Terry.

Guns traded at border-state gunshows among "law-abiding 2nd Amendment-loving Americans" end up in the hands of criminals. That's what Fast and Furious (ineptly) proved, and that's the elephant in plain sight that the NRA is spin-spin-spinning away from.

The worst fears of the gun nutz have been realized: Reuters U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade. This is big news on some of today's apocalyptic and right wing sites To have Guns or No - Civil War Coming What our Pres is doing?. Oddly, the Reuters article is dated October 14, 2009.

Oh come on. You need gun capable of firing a Ba. 50 armour piercing round with automatic wind speed detection and autofocus sniperscope to maintain the sporting aspect of shooting deer. Remember how fast the fuckers adapted to anti-tank weaponry?

Well with a .50 cal BMG the meat will be well tenderized and half will already be ground chuck.

I worked on Trident II Missiles in the Navy. I'm fully qualified to own one, it's my right under the second amendment. Who do these gun grabbers think they are keeping me from nuking someone trying to damage my property?

There are a bunch of surplus Titan and Atlas missile silos abandoned around the country. They would make a nice little "romantic getaway" bunker.

Just like a gungrabber offer me the gun but not the bullets. An empty silo is worthless, unless its freshly fired.

Nobody sez you gotta put a Titan missile back there. There are other things available on the International Arms Market that I am sure would meet your fancy... :D

Depends on your definition of a "gun".
