My Fogbow friends, even if Newt comes out the nominee, he will eventually get most of the party behind him united in their hatred for Obama. The righties don't care about hypocrisy at this point, they don't care about the luggage ol' Newty is carrying behind him, they hate Obama, it ain't called the whitehouse for nothing folks, they'll vote for him. Watch the tea parties BS about supporting him, they will, they don't care.

We can make an exception for Paul's core 15% support whom mostly will stay at home this year, but don't count on the rest.

While you are right the the Republicans will get behind their eventual nominee, warts and all, the question is how strongly will they support him? There's a big difference between being willing to vote for someone and being willing to donate to or volunteer for a candidate. Either way, I think the Republicans are going to have an enthusiasm deficit--hopefully one big enough that it can't even be overcome by ridiculous amounts of cash...

The Republicans know Newt can't win the general election The moderate wing of the party will not vote for him nor will the swing voters. Newt is a walking poster boy for all that is wrong with the federal government and how screwed up it is.

I want him to win the nomination so a lot of Republans will stay home and sit on their hands. If the Saudis pump enough oil to keep the price of oil down and the unemployment rate goes down one more point, it's game over

That is a great anti-Newt campaign theme.

Do you hate the power of corporations in Washington?
Newt Gingrich was a high-paid lobbyist.

Do you hate the appallingly low levels of ethics in Washington?
Newt Gingrich was penalized for ethical violations.

Do you hate the nasty, divisive tone in Washington?
No one is nastier and more divisive than Newt.

And so on.

It doesn't matter. The Independents will be the ones who swing this election. A majority of those can actually think.

I want Newt to trip and fall down the rip-rap around a sewer pond and slide all the way in, find it too slippery to get out and slowly all but drown whilst stinkin' and suckin' on raw sewage.

Beyond that, I don't want nothing for him. Oh, it would be nice if his wife went into the poo with him and they both were pushing each other in whilst competing for air.

Publicly admitting that they were abused is how victims regain their self-esteem. I'm not sure what attacking the victim accomplishes...

I'm not attacking the victims. Is Callista a victim? Was MaryAnn a victim before Newt started shopping for a new model? Was Jackie a victim before Newt started up with MaryAnn? At some point, at least in the case of Newt's ex's, they were with him by choice, then the relationship changed to something nasty and tainted when he destroyed the sanctity of marriage (I love using hs terms against him). Hell, until we know more, the football mom blowing him in the parking lot did it Because she wanted to. If he forced her to or used his position to get said blowjob, then yes, she's a victim. I'm not attacking her, merely stating that the worst part of an affair with a test like Newt isn't the affair so much, but having the world know you were intimate with that little troll.

Yes, someone given the choice to blow Newt or lose their job is a victim--and I'm not willing to give Newt the benefit of the doubt regarding coercion. And saying that someone lacks self-esteem seems like an attack to me (and everyone seemed to agree that it was an attack when drjohndrewphd was saying that Mike Dunford lacked self esteem...). I guess the thing that bothers me is that speaking out against someone--especially someone as powerful as Newt--is something that requires immense strength of character, so I would say that for someone to publicly admit she blew Newt is to exhibit self-esteem rather than the opposite. Just my $0.02.

I'm not so sure. If America is going to lose its mind again by electing a Republican, I'd rather it be Mitt Romney than one of the other chuckleheads. This is the reason why I didn't want Palin to run. As fun as it sounds, you never know what's going to happen (Bush v. Gore *cough*). But Newt's not really running. He's running to raise his speaking fee so he can pay for Tiffany Callista's jewelry habit. If he gets even close, I think he'll sabotage himself. He and Tif Callista must laugh themselves silly he's gotten this far.

I think Newt and Tiffany were originally running because it was good for business, but that now they think he's got a shot they're taking it more seriously. (And, it's good for business, too.)

Newt's ego is bigger than a house and T-C is quite ambitious. Might as well reach as high as you can climb, I suppose. It scares me.

As far as up thread and Callista being a victim.. I doubt it. I think she set her cap for her share of his fame and power. She keeps him from doing to her what he did to his other 2 wives by making sure there's no pretties around him. I'd like to see her hair move just once.

Well if Palin can charge $100,000s of nice new fashionable clothing to her campaign, why can't Tiffany charge nice new fine jewelery to Newt's campaign?

Newt did not really win the primary in South Carolina. Ron Paul won, but because of massive voter fraud, the win was handed to Newt.

Hundreds Of Dead People Vote In South Carolina GOP Primary

Newt Gingrich's convincing victory in South Carolina may now be marred by allegations of voter fraud.

South Carolina attorney general Alan Wilson notified the U.S. Dept. of Justice Sunday evening that 953 ballots were cast by "people listed as dead," according to the Associated Press.

According to the AP, 71 percent of the ballots used names of South Carolinians who died anywhere between two months and 76 months prior to Saturday's primary.

Wilson has recommended South Carolina's State Law Enforcement Division to investigate the allegations.

Sounds like the Republicans are trying to resuscitate their voter ID bill by allowing a lot of Republicans to commit voter fraud and then claim there's a lot of voter fraud.

This AG certainly does see dead people quite a bit. He claims the same thing happened in 2010 as well.

Bummer!
Boston Globe wrote:
The remaining viability of Gingrich’s candidacy suffered a blow last week when Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire casino mogul whose family has donated $16.5 million to a pro-Gingrich super PAC, appeared to run up the white flag. The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles on Thursday published a video of Adelson saying “it appears as though he’s at the end of his line.”

“Mathematically, he can’t get anywhere near the numbers, and it’s unlikely to be a brokered convention,” Adelson said in the video, recorded Monday when he spoke to a small group of people at a Jewish Federations of North America conference. Adelson also reportedly met with Romney supporters on March 22.

This may help explain why Gingrich is using Twitter instead of paid political ads to get his message out.

Not that it makes much difference, but Newt Gingrich may not be on the Utah presidential preference ballot. Gingrich stiffed Utah.
Salt Lake Tribune wrote:

Gingrich really needs to stop campaigning, publicly admit defeat and then congratulate Rmoney. What Newt is doing now is just the equivalent of peeing his pants in public.
