Mike, I just learnt something new, thanks. Kanaka ( pronounced kan ack uh) is a word used to describe the Pacific Islanders brought into Queensland in the late 19th and early 20th century to work in the sugar cane fields. They were often treated like slaves.
Kanakas is often used as a slang term for testicles.

Originally, it had the same meaning as a Natural born citizen for Hawaii (native-born). But over time, it has come to include anyone who is a resident (of more than 1 year) who lives in Hawaii. Military personnel excluded.

Actually, kanaka means roughly "wild man" for Native Hawaiians who mostly worked in agriculture (Sugar Cane, Pineapple pickers) or on ranches.

Not sure I could find it now, but about a week ago at ORYR I read an exchange between Mike and Dean where they did a mini kiss and make up. "Apparenlty" IIRC Mike had raked Dean over the coals for his comments about Orly. Dean then supplied what Orly had stated about Dean, Miki then told Dean she was sorry for her remarks, as she didn't realize Orly had actually stated those mean and nasty things about Dean.

Edit: Just did a quick check on deadline for filing paperwork to get on Oklahoma presidential ballot -- it was Dec 7 2011 Oops..

I learned something new today. I was reading the sample of Miki's book -- a book that had its start because "Too many things niggled at the back of my (Miki) mind." Interesting choice of words, Miki -- niggled. I'm sure you chose that word at random with no intent to hint at President Obama's skin color. The new thing I learned is that according to Miki, "Obama had a hand in the financial collapse of 2008. There is no doubt in my mind: HE DID THIS, and now he owns the means by which to repay those who helped him do it." *

I knew President Obama was powerful, but to "get to" thousands of real estate agents, bank loan managers and home buyers who all bought into subprime and other less than prime mortgages goes beyond "wow." But he didn't stop there, he lured Wall Street funds managers, folks at the rating companies like Standard and Poor and investors like the government of Iceland into his web to give his schemes a sense of legitimacy. And all of this just to destroy the US economy so that he could be elected president.

Thank doG, she spent $10,000 on a book that no one is buying. Can you say "karma" Miki?
