Welcome Mr Dummett

jdummett wrote:
This means this will be the first time that the merits of the case whether Obama is eligible or not will finally be decided.

Incorrect. The Court of Appeals in Indiana looked at the merits of the case in 2009 Their ruling in part

Quote:
Based upon the language of Article II, Section 1, Clause 4 and the guidance provided by Wong Kim Ark, we conclude that persons born within the borders of the United States are “natural born Citizens” for Article II, Section 1 purposes, regardless of the citizenship of their parents. Just as a person “born within the British dominions [was] a natural-born British subject” at the time of the framing of the U.S. Constitution, so too were those “born in the allegiance of the United States [] natural-born citizens.”15

You can real the entire ruling here

Quote:
To top this there are now over twenty State ballot commissions who are facing lawsuits and the end of the week we expect to file against twenty more. A week after this we should get the other seventeen ? No wait is there fifty States or fifty-seven. Maybe we should ask Obama.

Dude, in all seriousness, its been 4 years since he made that slip, and that's the one and only gaffe that you people keep referencing in your unfunny jokes. Is that because there arn't any others, hmm? If Obama was the terrible speaker you want to insinuate he is, than surely you would have more material, hmm? I mean he could have forgotten the third thing he want's to Abolish, offered a 10 grand bet on something on live tv, said the fundamentals of the economy are strong and had crib notes for prepared questions on his right hand...

Quote:
So keep making stupid remarks about things most of you know nothing about. To prove a point there are three types of citizens in the United States. Native born, Naturalized and Natural Born Citizens.

Here is a link to US citizenship law. please point us to the place where those 3 types of citizenship are discussed.

I think you might be surprised to find that your lawyer, Mr. Van Iirons, has been fibbing to you about the states in which he's filed challenges. Or you're both fibbing.

Let's see your daughter/daughter-in-law's birth certificate.

I think the doo-may is only committing a hit-and-run here. I'm not going to let his idiocy get to me. Why would he come back? Doesn't he have a million better things to do running for the US Presidency?

Meh. They all show up here eventually. Fear the Fogbow.

Uh... Nope... All Native Born citizens are natural born citizens with few exceptions found in Common Law, namely born to foreign dignitaries and invading military, and in the US, Native Americans.

There is no legal or scholarly support for such a notion.

There are countless examples

Quote:
In Steinkauler’s case (15 Op Atty Gen 15 12 Alb L.J. 23) in an opinion by Mr Pierrepont Attorney General of the US we have the following .Young Steinkauler who was born in St Louis after his father had been naturalized in the United States the father subsequently returning to Germany and taking the boy with him is a native born American citizen. There is no law of the United States under which his father or any other person can deprive him of his birthright. He can return to America at the age of twenty one and in due time if the people elect he can become President of the United States but the father in accordance with the treaty and the laws has renounced his American citizenship and his American allegiance and has acquired for himself and his son German citizenship and the rights which it carries and he must take the burdens as well as the advantages.

This is what the birfers have in common - delusional thinking.

This may be a surprise to you, Mr. Dummett, but you aren't really running for President. I'm not sure what you're doing, but no one will see your name on any ballot. 8>

Also, I think you spelled your attorney's name wrong. Iiron?

How can you doubt John, Kate? This is a man with real leadership experience, why he managed to be be a Webelos cub scout leader for a short while almost 30 years ago-- and as far as I know, John has not been accused yet of molesting any of his charges. What more can anyone ask of a leader of the most powerful nation on earth? Once you've handled a handful of pre-teen boys, dealing with America's problems will be easy peasy for John.

You want more, well there is that video of him racing across an open field on a horse. John sure knows to handle the reins of power.

You want more, sorry Kate but that's all John has in his arsenal -- except he can keep count of fish and maybe some wildlife. Maybe he take world leaders fishing or a horse ride -- or tell them the long story about how his daughter is also his daughter-in-law. Surely that should be good for a laugh or two.

ROTFL, but the DNC will still elect him to be their Presidential Nominee and certify him to be on the ballot in all 50 states. What then? But since your position is based on a flawed understanding of citizenship, I doubt that you will manage to keep him even from a single primary ballot. Sorry my friend but with the present GOP lineup, President Obama appears to be the most likely candidate for the next presidency. And there is really nothing you can do about through the courts.

Wake up, Dum Dum. President (<---that's right!) Obama already won the New Hampshire primary in 2012.

Of course Obama has already been on a ballot in 2012 in a state where a pitched birther battle was fought: New Hampshire

Hi John - Welcome to The Fogbow. Wow, a real Presidential Candidate! Pretty cool :D

I hope you enjoy your time here. We have cookies and kitties (well, except under the bridge, where there aren't any cookies, and the kittehs have much bigger claws). We always welcome you smart folk coming here and teaching us new stuff. We learned a lot from the last John that hung out here for a while. He was some type of award winning doctor scientist, and he taught us quite a bit about how things really worked back in the 1980s.

Since we're making stupid remarks about things we know nothing about, can you please educate us with some case law about that three types of citizen idea? We've been looking for it for a while and we haven't been able to find it.

Thanks!

raicha's right, this was probably another one-hit wonder, meaning one post and we'll never see him again.

I'm not even going to throw him beneath the bridge unless he returns.

Gosh darn it, I hope he comes back and explains this:
Quote:
In Tennessee the Secretary of State has already put to writing his willingness to keep Obama off the Tennessee ballot until this case is settled

He's Tre Hargett. This informative bit is over at obamaballotchallenge:
Quote:
Per the Secretary of State’s Office

If the challenge is made prior to the ballot being approved, the challenge would be made to the election commission. There should be a public meeting held where the election commission approves the names for the ballot. I would recommend you contacting the election commission office if you believe a candidate is not eligible for the ballot. If the challenge is made after the ballot has been approved and printed, the challenge would have to be made in court.

But then there's this...
Quote:
Secretary Hargett Announces Candidates for Tennessee’s March Presidential Primary
(Published: December 5, 2011)
Secretary of State Tre Hargett announced the nine Republican candidates and one Democrat who are scheduled to compete in Tennessee’s March 6 presidential preference primary elections.

Secretary Hargett announced the candidates’ names during a State Election Commission meeting this afternoon.

The Republican candidates are: Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Gary Johnson, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Charles “Buddy” Roemer, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. The lone Democrat is President Barack Obama.

Any of the listed candidates who do not wish to participate in the Tennessee primaries have until noon Dec. 13 to withdraw, otherwise their names will appear on the ballot.

Thanks Kimba I was wondering where our pet presidential candidate got that from.

TN is one of those states where the SoS can simply nominate nationally recognised candidates although you can also get on the ballot by petition with 2500 signatures but the deadline was 6th Dec.

Anyone remember Obama withdrawing his name by noon Dec. 13? Didn't think so.
