There's a lot of people on both sides of this issue that are at odds against one another for a number of reasons. Unfortunately for some they are letting personal desires get in the way of the pursuit for truth and things take a wrong turn.

I give Ed credit that he's not banning people on his forum, or at least this group of people in particular. He's letting his site and it's purpose stand on it's own and is not trying to filter out the noise. Right, Wrong or indifferent that noise is as much a part of this process as anything. It's a shame that some people can't be open minded enough to see it for what it is.

He's banned lots. Including me. I'm using a different name over there. There are a few others here whom Ed has banned. But... he bans by I.P. only.

I can understand that "some" need to be banned but it would take a lot. I banned one IP to try and find something out and I was wrong.

Ed won't need money to defend himself against Berg...Berg never files stuff on time, so the case wouldn't go anywhere. Berg is just harassing Ed. But, it kind of sounds like they deserve each other!

As of last night, there have been only 3 comments or posts on his board.

I suspect Ed will find that few are willing to pay to chat on his site...even loyal followers.

My guess would be that there will be handful of local people (who can feed and lodge themselves at home) who will show up for some of it. I'd also guess that there will be another handful of the "faithful" including some from out of town (who will have to pay for transportation, lodging, and meals) who will also show up.

To be honest--and I'm not trying to be critical, just stating facts--my observation from reading the OC blog forum, Orly's blog, and several other of the birfer forums, is that many of the people who post on them are unemployed (some laid off and some chronically unemployed; some retired or never-employed outside the home). While it is difficult for me to imagine (particularly in this economy with low and insecure employment prospects) spending the money which might reasonably--and might NECESSARILY-- have gone to pay the mortgage/rent, utilities, medical insurance, etc., costs for my family's essentials on some boondoggle (including the cost of attending Orly's ego-convention, or even sending $5 bucks to Berg (with his absolute losing record)), my priorities are obviously different (as is my perspective, since I'm not in an insecure employment situation...although my firm is also taking a hit as fewer potential appellants decide they can fund appeals, so we're also tightening our belts with fewer clients/cases).

I believe that are many of the devoted and faithful Bergbots/Orlybots who, however sincere in their faith, and however much they'd truly like to help "the cause," are also realists who put their families' welfare and needs first. If that was not the case, Berg wouldn't need to continue to prominently beg for funds, and Orly for livestock. Those people are going to make the only responsible decisions they CAN make...they're going to keep the roof over the heads and the hamburger helper and Cheerios on the table, and not take off to some "convention" or otherwise spend their limited and tentative incomes/savings...and some will make a different decision.

Their choice, of course.

I'm live in Dallas and will be in attendance.

Based on these people's track record, I'd sure want to verify that info. Orly isn't exactly known for her "factchecking" abilities and Ed Hale for being "credible" in my humble opinion.

Ed quit again the other day. Said he'll fill in every once in awhile... but he is no longer doing his show. I heard he doesn't like O rly bringing the military into this. I think he's a little perturbed at her for this. And, he was a big supporter of hers. Remember, Berg is representing MommaE who filed the Cease & Desist against Ed. Ed disavowed Berg, and was hanging onto O rly & Pidgeon. Oh... the drama.
