Nice work, Loren.

Here's a great comment from the SPLC article:
Quote:

Dear America,

Please understand and accept these three simple and incontrovertible facts about Obama:

1) He is NOT a Kenyan;
2) He is NOT a Muslim, and most obvious of all;
3) HE IS NOT A DAMN SOCIALIST.

Signed,
Europe.

Y'know, it's been *months* since his hard-hitting exposes on Epictetus, rikker, and Jim Johnso...I mean, Foggy.

You think he'd be anxious to do another installment, and go after someone who's actually done some damage.

Given the Jim Johnson fiasco, though, he'd probably try to claim that the whole 'public ID' thing is just a feint, and I'm secretly, I dunno, Dave Weigel.

Shouldn't that be 'Accusations of plagiarism' now? If only someone were able to add information to Wikipedia...

Needs more secondary sources. Wikipedia doesn't do "original research."

Wikipedia has a reliable sources policy. (This frustrates birthers to no end, who complain when their fact-free edits are undone.) I'm not sure if any of the sources that picked up the story thus far are sufficiently reliable.

Hey now, it looks like Wikipedia considers the Southern Poverty Law Center to be a sufficiently reliable secondary source...

From my wikipedia experience :- , I found that SPLC cites tend to trigger edit wars.

But I do appreciate that Loren won't do it himself, as that would violate another wikipedia policy.

I'm contemplating triggering an edit war. However, this may yet escape into unquestionable secondary sources. Let's give it a couple days.

It's been eight months since Corsi's book came out. No total sales figures seem to be available, unfortunately.

I did hear Corsi on one radio show claim that the book had sold 75,000 copies. I was curious how probable that is.

Corsi's "Obama Nation" debuted at #1 in 2008, and reportedly sold some 21,466 that week. As the top-selling book in the country. The same month Obama was nominated for the Presidency. WTBC debuted at #6, fell to #14 the following week, and then dropped off the chart entirely.

So while we may not have a concrete number, I really don't think this supports the notion that 75,000 people have Corsi's new book in their homes.

He may be counting bulk sales, the majority of which are no doubt collecting dust in the storerooms of RWNJ organizations around the country.

No one ever said that they were in 75K different locations...Prolly has 75K stacked in boxes in his basement - a private residence (and a couple of neighbors).

Maybe I missed the post but I was on amazon and lost my link to the Corsi book thread so I had to search by Jerome Corsi and found this steaming pile of crap

It's a very recent direct-to-kindle release. He couldn't even get WND to print and promote then thing. =))

Actual, I'm-not-kidding quote from "Where's the REAL Birth Certificate":

Corsi wrote:
WND has reported that a prominent Democrat, apparently operating with the full approval and cooperation of the president, has directed a team of up to one hundred who are paid to publish disinformation on a wide variety of Web sites to attack and discredit “birthers.”

The Obots have stated that their White House-appointed ring leader is Democratic Party operative James A. Johnson, the former chairman of Fannie Mae, who has posted on various Obot Web sites under the username “JimBot.”

Well, it's true.

WND did report that.

So Corsi reported that Corsi reported.... That's some fine journalism.

What a ridiculous notion! Why would Obama need anyone to discredit the birthers who manage to look like the loonies they are quite well on their own!

For Fogbow newbies: See here for the story of Jimbot. Corsi got punked by Foggy and is apparently not grown-up enough to admit it so he is repeating the ridiculous story.
