I suspect that the first reaction of the agencies involved is to ignore the nutcase Rondoo. However, when the MCSO figures out that Sharon has the stolen documents in her possession she will get the attention she seeks.

Officials tried to contact Fitzpatrick at his residence. After he did not come to the door, they left a note on his front door telling him to contact the Sheriff's Office.
Fitzpatrick failed to contact officials so they obtained a search warrant. Officials with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and TBI agents went to Fitzpatrick's home. When Fitzpatrick refused to come to the door, officials broke into his home and took him into custody.
Officials also found several electronic media storage items. The hard copy documents were not found.

Today an article appeared in The Post & Email (http://www.thepostemail.com/2011/12/21/ ... ll-part-2/) that is accompanied by multiple scans of "documents" that blogger Sharon Rondeau claims were "received" in two packets, packages, or envelopes.

From their content, it seems highly likely they represent the missing courtroom documents from Monroe County. This is for your information.

I have screenshots saved of the P&E article, in case Ms. Rondeau tries to remove it.

Won't Sharon Rondeau claim that because she is the editor of a well regarded newspaper, she has the right to print what she receives regardless of whether it is stolen? Isn't she just another paper, like the New York Times in the Pentagon papers case? Or another Wiki-leaks?

Perhaps. But she is going to find that justice does not come cheap. If she is indicted she may have to spring some of the dough she's making by publishing the P&E for a lawyer to get her out of the mess she's in. I'm sure her hobby has been very profitable. She charges a dollar a day for some of the ads, and doesn't seem to have any.

But even if she gets out of the mess she's in, hasn't she sunk Commodore FitzFilcher? Since the P&E is little more than FitzFilcher's press release arm, I don't think Rondeau is going to be allowed to invoke a news reporter's shield, assuming it's available in Tennessee. (It's not available in federal court.)

I'm thinking a Tennessee grand jury can indict Rondeau and then have her extradited to Tennessee to face the music. Unfortunately for Rondeau, Tennessee's Shield Law is a very weak one. There are sufficient exceptions to get to the source of her information. Beyond that, since she is actually Commodore FitzFilcher's press agent, I don't think any reporter's shield law would apply to her, even if she had a real newspaper and a printing press and published real news rather than hateful propaganda.
