The hate Obama so much they will never accept the fact that he is the President of the US......
I wonder sometimes what will happen to those people after Obama leaves office (whether it's after one term or two). Will they go back to whatever crazyass things they were involved in pre-Obama, or will they shift focus from trying to get Obama removed to trying to have everything he did while in office declared null and void? I wonder if their Obama insanity is going to be a lifetime thing or limited to his years as President.
Their hate for Obama is giving them
something that they find satisfying -- maybe it's the anger chemicals, maybe they're addicted to the adreniline rush of "doing battle," maybe they find reinforcement with their fellow haters.
Anyway, I think the answer is no. I've known fired-up people who just burned out on the emotion (been that way sometimes myself when the outrage meter gets stuck on max and overloads), but I don't think people who have been manning the barricades then decide "ok, it's over" and generally go back to living quiet lives.
A slight aside and memory -- in the mid-70s, after the VietNam war ended, I went back to the college where I'd been in 1968 to visit with my former roommate who was an assistant professor and an old-school liberal. She really missed the heady days of marching in the streets, but she told me that some of the core gang were getting back together to form a protest organization.
Their first protest target was to be .... kudzu. They were about 40 years too late for that, and I never heard how it worked out for them, but I remember thinking that they were trying to recapture the past feelings of protesting
something, no matter how silly.
