They's cute! Boing, Boing! :P

No idea what Ellie would think of them. She knows squirrels and geese are fine eatin', turkeys get away too easily, kittehs aren't food, doggies will hurt her, raccoons are enemies, and police horses are from outer space. (We see the horses at the Marathon every year controlling unruly college drunks, and she is always perplexed by them. I guess she thinks the horse and rider are one animal.) Bouncing goats might be food, they might be toys.

And this:
http://telling-secrets.blogspot.com/201 ... -neck.html

Quote:
No, Billy Bob Neck is not a real person. Thanks be to God.

He's a character created by Paul Day in 2004 as his part to try and raise funds for John Kerry's presidential bid. Rather than be just another comic telling "Bush is stupid" jokes, he came up with the character of Billy Bob Neck. Billy Bob is bleeding edge satire on those in the Christian Conservative Movement who believe that "George Bush is the greatest president since Winston Churchill" and that President Obama wants to personally kill your grandmother.

more at the link.

though... mebbe he is crazy.

Semi-apropos of the death of Amy Winehouse, the new inductee to the Forever 27 Club, and a thread about amazing ends of songs going on in some thread where it's a threadjack, this song generally associated with Jimi Hendrix (although Bob Dylan wrote it and Jimi merely turned it from a good to a great song).

Anyway, the climax of this song arrives at about 3:35. There's a progression, that repeats throughout the song, which since I don't have perfect pitch, and can't read music worth a damn, I can't describe exactly. It is reaching toward a final note, but Jimi withholds that note throughout the song, creating a harmonic tension. Finally, at the end of the song, he hits that final note, and screams it again and again, and it's just one of the best things in music.

And he, too, died at 27. Probably more important than Amy Winehouse. Kind of amazing he found time to do as much as he did and all those drugs, too.

Just by comparison, though, Keats died at 25, leaving behind a body of work of astonishing virtuosity and technical skill.

Of all the dead rock stars, Jimi was the greatest loss. He taught the world what it was possible to do with an electric guitar.

He'd be 68 today. :((

Did the brand names he mentioned pay for the prayer spot?

Thought I would share this with you guys. Mike Oldfield's "Sunlight Shining Through Cloud" including the lyrics to Amazing Grace. From the Millennium Bell Album

I listen to it when I am in a grumpy mood and it always uplifts me.

This one should be Obama's campaign song for 2012. It was the soundtrack of my time in Hong Kong.

John Farnham "You're the Voice"
