The lady left the world a much better place than she found it. Good for her.

She gave hope and courage to others: first, to women diagnosed with breast cancer; second, to men and women with addictions to drugs and alcohol.

It does. And the key is, you need to march along with it.

She was a dancer. I didn't know that. The picture up top, though, speaks volumes. RIP, classy lady. Your work here is done.

Once I tried kicking and screaming and time dragged me right along in that undignified position.

Hasn't let me back up since to prove I can march. :((

So I'm still kicking and screaming. But it's not my fault! ?(

Betty Ford is probably one of a handful of First Ladys who will outrank their husband's place in history.

Laura Bush is another, in terms of being a decent human being.

She was one great role model, from an era when Republicans were decent people.

I liked her music but cannot say I am surprised.

Lucien Freud died this week as well. I liked some of his work but could do without all the close-up naked splotchy fat people.

RIP, Shali

CNN

Quote:
(CNN) -- Retired Army Gen. John Shalikashvili, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has died of complications from a stroke, his executive assistant, Rachel McLain, told CNN Saturday. He was 75.

Shalikashvili passed away Saturday at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, McLain said. He is survived by his wife, Joan, and their son, Brant.

Born in Poland in 1936, Shalikashvili became the first foreign-born chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1993. He held the post until his retirement in 1997, serving under former President Bill Clinton.

Prior to that, Shalikashvili was NATO's 10th supreme allied commander in Europe.

It's too bad. She had a lot of talent. Unfortunately, you could see this coming a mile away.

You could really use a picture of her early in her career and before she died as something even scarier than a Faces of Meth poster. She was young and pretty not too long ago, and even a bit voluptuous. It didn't take her at all long to look like Keith Richards in drag.

RIP.

Note, she joins Jim and Jimi and Janis and (Robert) Johnson in the Forever 27 Club.
