This has been tried before. After a half day being detained by the Secret Service and a group photo in front of the District Court, the merry little band led by Bubba Swensson paired off and visited Congressional offices. Where's that video of Dr. "Duct Tape" Penny dropping off a package of reading materials only to catch the Congressman's receptionist deposit it in a wastebasket?

This just made me think of a parody song called "Birfin' USA" based on the Beach Boys song. Then I couldn't think of a damn thing to put in it. Anyone can steal the idea, though, and run with it.

Okay, I'll give it a shot:

If everybody had a long form
Across the U.S.A.
Then everybody'd be birfin'
Like Orly-forn-I-A
You'd see 'em wearin' their tea bags
racist slogans, too
with a batshit crazy lawyer
Birfin' U.S.A.

You'd catch 'em birfin on the intertubes (Inside, outside, U.S.A)
and in Usurpathons
Orly and Fitzpatrick,
they've all got different cons
quo warranto in DC
and signs on the roadway

Everybody's gone birfin'
Birfin U.S.A.

We'll all be plannin' out a presentment
we're gonna serve real soon
we're laminating our signage
Obama's time's up soon
We'll all be gone for the protest
We're going to DC to stay
Tell our families we're birfin'
Birfin' U.S.A.

At Polarik's and doctor Hate's
and some Freepers too,
Donofrio and Lakin
and don't forget Rondeu
it all started with Phil Berg
who birfed when it was new

Everybody's gone birfin'
Birfin U.S.A.

Everybody's gone birfin'
Birfin U.S.A.

Yeah, everybody's gone birfin'
Birfin U.S.A.

We should ask someone who has a band to record it for us!

I've got this deja vu thingy goin' on. Did we do this before? Maybe I'm thinking about the time at Firedoglake when Tommy Yum of the Squirrel Nut Zippers got Rickie Lee to do a campaign song he wrote.

My favorite Squirrel Nut Zippers song is about where Republicans are going.

I'm definitely in for that. I'd meet you there, but I'll be where I am, in a nearby old folks' home.

Actually, Foggy, it looks like they are. From "Summit Facts":
Quote:
When the dates, times, and places are finalized, we will offer online registration for the event. Join our email list today, and we'll keep you informed about this exciting, historic event!

For a reasonable price, no doubt. To pay for the PortaPotties and security and the big-screen monitors and such. After all, George Soros isn't going to be funding us ...

Funny, I thought they were hoping for several million. Maybe they need to add to the reasonable price to hire someone to manage the huge database of registrants.

I have signed up for email and will register and be there on the day, regardless of how many accompany me.

History in the making. ;;)

Seems to me that not listing a date or cost for this extravaganza would be a real red flag in the birther community, but then I remembered that I'm sane and don't have the same thought processes as they do.

Orly will take that duty and use her Yahoo account, a couple of extra emails among 10'000s unread will not break her.

My thoughts about birther summits

Posted on | July 7, 2011 | No Comments

I understant, there is an idea of the birther summit in a year or so
I believe we need to concentrate first on what is urgent now: motion to compel subpoena in HI, lobbying the congressmen and senators on the eligibility issues now, as they are doing their town hall meetings.
I am telling all of my supporters to concentrate on what they need to do now, make sure they are making a difference now. For example, now during the Republican primary we can go to candidates and promise our support to one, who will be a champion of eligibility. Candidates, who do not have that many votes, like Santorum, or McCotter might be willing to do it [great strategy Orly :-bd ]
I was part of the Continental Congress. A lot of time and money went on it. At the end, nobody covered it. It was completely ignored by most media. there is a possibility that the summit will be similarly ignored. [ya think?]
On the other hand, when one woman confronted Congressman Mike Castle and demanded answers on birth certificate and he stood there like a potz, was free advertisement of the issue. It did not cost us a cent, it went viral, was seen by millions of people and media. Castle was thrown out of office. He actually lost his bid to Senate to unknown primary challenger Christine O’Donnell.
Let’s concentrate on what works, what is cost effective and what sheds light on the issue now, today. While, I am planning to participate in this summit (if it ever happens) and I am planing to talk about all the work, I have done, [big surprise there] singing to the quire will not get Obama thrown out of office. We have very little time and money. Let’s use those wisely to make maximum impact today.

In other words, if you want to have this summit, I'll be there, but I'm going to talk about ME ME ME!! It is, after all, all about ME. What part of that do you people not get? :((

The birther summit is in "a year or so"? They are waiting a year? Why not just wait until after Obama's second inauguration to start? Geez!

A "motion to compel subpoena"? Is that one thing or two?

Methinks Orly already understands that she is going to have to do battle in court to get the discovery she wants. Prescient for once. What she doesn't foresee is that she will lose because the law is not in her favor.

Saaay, why isn't part one of the summit being conducted on the Birfer Alaska Cruise? Aren't all the best minds in Birferdom going to be on board? How are the ticket sales coming along for that?

And what were the results of the pow-wow at Pechanga that Gen. Vallely was pimpin' as the "National Call to Action" in December-January?

There was also Andy Martin's Third (Fourth) National Conference on Barack Obama's Missing Birth Certificate, held 3 full weeks before release of the LFBC. Certainly, the best and the brightest were gathered there in a spirit of birther unity? Where's the unified statement? Where's the march?

Puh-leeze. These people couldn't organize a bake sale.
