They say troubles come in threes. Gregg is my third in the last month. ENOUGH! We have lost some good ones and it needs to stop.

I am saddened by this news. His wit is irreplaceable. I was thinking about him the other day and sending good wishes. Per his sister's request on behalf of Greg, I will send in a donation to each of the shelters I regularly donate in his honor.

So sad hear this.
I would think about him sometimes and track down this thread hoping to find positive updates on his recovery process but, alas, none.

Damn, we never made it to the train place :crying: . I am sick at heart. I only met Gregg in the flesh once, but we lived on the same street 12 houses apart in the early '80s. He hung around the cute girl next door. He may have been the little guy who would put various critters in our mail box (he denied it but there was a twinkle in his eye).
When I saw him he was up-beat, strong and my thinking was "You've got this!" Too young, too brilliant, a good friend the world is darker today! I was getting ready to call him today since I hadn't spoke to him in a while. Then I saw the post from his sister on Facebook. Gregg IS special!

I didn't know Gregg outside of his posts here but we shared a history in the automotive industry though in different capacities. I agreed with him almost completely on auto industry related topics and on a whole lot of others as well. He was the real deal and he'll be greatly missed.

Parvati reports on Quatloos that Gregg passed on Friday, May 3, 2024.
As I believe some of you may be aware, Gregg passed away on Friday (May 3). In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral or service, but please consider donating to your local animal shelter.

RIP, Gregg. It was a pleasure to know you (and the original Dachshund Regiment member, Chili Dog).
He was a man with a big brain, a bigger heart, and a whole lot of attitude! Salut, Gregg!
I am really sorry to hear this. I had a feeling over the weekend that something wasn't right as I noticed he hadn't logged on here since March and he was planning to return to work in a couple of weeks per comments on cousin site Quatloos.

We had a lot in common -- a love of dogs, a career in cutting-edge manufacturing companies, knowledge of economics and capitalism, a wide range of eclectic interests and an unwillingness to suffer fools easily. I definitely took a lot more care researching factually oriented posts when I knew he might read them so that I didn't end up on the wrong end of that last bit. He inspired me to be a better writer as a result.

I'll miss him, as well as the 699th. I hope Root Beer and Biscuit are able to recover and enjoy their new home -- I'm sure that Gregg has ensured that they'll be spoiled rotten in their new home.
