So there I was in my garden, container of cricket poop in one hand, muddy gloves on, mud streaks on my face, in my gardening clothes in all their glory, when out of the tiny recording studio next to the house walks Jim Ward - mook to Stephanie Miller and voice guy extraordinaire! He's working on a project with my next door neighbor.

I stammered that I was a fan and offered first a muddy glove, then a grubby hand. He took it graciously. ;;) we chatted. He's a cat person. :D

My day is complete.

Pretty sure I've never heard of either of them. But I thought you California types all were famous, knew each other, and lived next door to famous people. After all, you know Ducky and Stern.

Crime to Post Images That Cause “Emotional Distress” in Tennessee “Without Legitimate Purpose”

Quote:
If you’re posting a picture of someone in an embarrassing situation — not at all limited to, say, sexually themed pictures or illegally taken pictures — you’re likely a criminal unless the prosecutor, judge, or jury concludes that you had a “legitimate purpose.”

Likewise, if you post an image intended to distress some religious, political, ethnic, racial, etc. group, you too can be sent to jail if governments decisionmaker thinks your purpose wasn’t “legitimate.” Nothing in the law requires that the picture be of the “victim,” only that it be distressing to the “victim.”

The same is true even if you didn’t intend to distress those people, but reasonably should have known that the material — say, pictures of Mohammed, or blasphemous jokes about Jesus Christ, or harsh cartoon insults of some political group — would “cause emotional distress to a similarly situated person of reasonable sensibilities.”

And of course the same would apply if a newspaper or TV station posts embarrassing pictures or blasphemous images on its site.

You can bet Anonymous is going to have fun with this after they get some pictures of the legislators who passed this willfully unconstitutional law.

Geneva Bible

This Special Edition Includes:

• 1599 Geneva Bible Text
• 300,000 Study Notes
• Prayer of George Washington
• The Magna Carta
• The Mayflower Compact
• The Declaration of Independence
• The Articles of Confederation
• The Constitution of the United States
• Amendments to the U.S. Constitution
• Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior

Between 1560 and 1599, The Geneva Bible was providentially unleashed upon a dark, discouraged, downtrodden English speaking world. Just when it looked as if the Machiavellian, Divine Right kings, such as the Tudors of England, were about to drive Christendom back to the days of Caesar worship, a Bible appeared that set the stage for a Christian Reformation of life and culture the likes of which the world had never seen. The results of a people reading and obeying the Word of God were the explosion of faith, character, the first missionary movement in history, literature, economic blessing, and political and religious freedom.

The Pilgrims brought the 1599 Geneva Bible with them when they arrived in the New World in 1620. All but forgotten in our day, this version of the Bible was the most widely read and influential English Bible of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. A superb translation, it was the product of the best Protestant scholars of the day and became the Bible of choice for many of the greatest writers and thinkers of that time. Men such as William Shakespeare, John Bunyan, and John Milton used the Geneva Bible in their writings. William Bradford also cited the Geneva Bible in his famous book Of Plymouth Plantation.

Along with the Geneva Bible and Washington's Prayer should come a copy of the Snopes debunking of the Washington Prayer as just another pile of crap generated as propaganda during the Civil War era.

In the category of things that are going better: a mountain lion was killed yesterday on the Wilbur Cross Parkway in Milford near the river, not in the "mountains." This is to the southwest of New Haven. Not good that the lion was killed; good that wildlife is returning to the region. Connecticut was once densely forested and is returning to forest, punctuated by a few cities. I sometimes say that Connecticut is one of the most densely inhabited forests in North America, which strikes people as odd given its proximity to New York City.

Our local problematic wildlife are bears and fishers, with a few coyotes that ought not to be here.

 I used to live in Milford, CT at the end of the Merritt.

So you lived where the Merritt becomes the Wilbur Cross, the two constituting one of the first limited-access highways in America. The Merritt, which connects to the Hutchinson, resembles other roads in the network of parkways down in Westchester County, while the Wilbur Cross implemented some of the design principles that went into the first Interstate highways. After 9/11 almost all of the beautiful bridges on the Merritt were adorned with American flags. The Merritt Parkway: The Queen of All Parkways

The conjunction is at the Bridge of Death over the Housatonic River. The old Sikorsky Memorial Bridge (near a major Sikorsky factory) was a steel-mesh bridge. It was a bit disconcerting to see the river pass beneath your vehicle, but the true danger of the old Sikorsky Bridge came when it rained, snowed, or iced. That mesh caused your vehicle to slip a bit even when dry; when wet, it was a horror. Some people avoided the Merritt/Wilbur Cross simply because of that bridge. There was a myth that the steel mesh had been installed upside down, accounting for its slipperiness.

Connecticut drivers came to hate the old Sikorsky Bridge. I have not found documentation of whether there were any fatalities on the bridge because of its slipperiness (much less a count of deaths); it is possible that it was so dangerous that people took sufficient care while on it. I recall a 2004 local newspaper article describing a fatal accident that occurred during demolition of the steel-mesh bridge. Two cranes collapsed when a large piece of the bridge collided with one crane. A crane operator was killed. The story called this "the last fatality" of the old Sikorsky Memorial Bridge. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/02/18/nyregion/two-cranes-collapse-at-the-sikorsky-bridge-killing-a-construction-worker.html

I don't know why, but I can't post in the Report Problems thread. Weird.

Anyhow, my chat still won't scroll, but it's not really that big of a deal. Really just an annoyance.

For those who wish to assist Foggy with screenshots etc of the ongoing WND libel issues, here is a suggested checklist to attempt to ensure any such information is as usuable as possible.

The primary principles are that the data has to have as inviolate a form as well as demonstrable proof of WHO, WHAT, WHEN and WHERE the data was created.

We need to ensure the data is time stamped correctly, has a record of creation, a method of showing the record has not been changed, has a record of where the data went from -> to and is in a "frozen" inviolate state.

How you want to grab the images is up to you, this is purely a checklist to assist in showing the data has not been tampered with

1. Check your PC and ensure it has the correct date and time set

2. Create a folder/directory on your computer that will be used as a holding area ONLY for this work

3. Download and intall an application that will create a digital fingerprint of the image or document created. This will be what is known as a "hash" or "digest" and is a unique digital fingerprint of the record AT THE MOMENT OF CREATION OF THE HASH. The two general types to use are called an MD-5 or SHA-1 hash. I would suggest a freeware/shareware version, they all use the same underpinned algorithm
(Suggested application http://download.cnet.com/MD5-SHA-1-Chec ... torsreview)

You will end up with the original file and a long alphanumberic number that you copy to a text file and store with the original screen-shotted file. If any changes of any type are made to the original, when the hash is run again it will be different. This will be able to demonstrate that no changes have been to the original since the creation of the hash

4. PREFERABLY, once the screen shot has been captured and hashed you should burn a copy of both files to a CD. This will freeze the records in a Read Only format and will also assist in preventing accidental deletion etc as well as seperate your personal data from what may be used in a court case. It will also be far simpler to send to whoever requires it, if it should be needed. If you do not wish to burn to a CD, at the least create a clean folder/directory on your computer to store ONLY the data and hashes.

5. Record ALL ACTIONS. Print up the checklist and list what you did and when, hard copy will be acceptable although ideally in a sequentially numbered book in that case.

What you did, where you did it, what actions you performed and the date and time. This will assist in obviating any questions about the actions and validity of the data possibly months later. If you wish to do this electronically, again no problems just make sure that when you have finished the record , same steps as for screenshots.

6. Once you have completed any screenshots, made hashes etc and you will be making no more, make at least one copy of the CD (if you have used one) and store both in a CD holder (scratches on CD's are not your friend)

7. If asked to send the data to another party, DO NOT SEND THE ORIGINAL, make a copy and send the copy.

Any other questions please feel free to PM me.

(edited for stoopid, forgot "create work area")

Does anyone know if there is any 90 day rehab or 12 step program for a uncontrollable adddiction to string cheese? It is really getting out of control.... I find little plastric wrappers all over the house and I don't even remember eating some of it. If the cats had opposable thumbs....
