As I mentioned on the show last night, I sent an email to Doc C. to let him know we're resuscitatin' ObamaFringe. Asked if he wanted to coordinate our efforts.

He says he's got his hands full with his own blog. Told me "Coordinate away."

So, like ... consider yourselves coordinated. =;

I unilaterally reorganized the main page and added content to it. I invite discussion on its talk page.

Jesus foggy this needs a lot of work. Maybe this weekend I'll start doing some research to fill in some of the blanks. Especially with Tim Adams lies about the Primary in Hawaii.

That would be great! That's one of the biggest birfing points.

Do I have permission to liberally copypaste language from the Fogbow home page, to stick into portions of our birther wiki?

(We really need more contributors, by the way)

In a week or two when tax season ends, I could probably take on something. I've been researching Trump a bit, given my financial background.

Most of the language on the HPP is mine, feel free to plunder. Foggy's is the rest, he has his own special voice. It should be easy to ID the two of us.

Absolutely. I believe I said once already, if there's some duplication, the more the merrier. doG knows there's plenty of duplication on the birther sites.

I believe that at this point, the entire national deficit can be explained by Obama's legal expenses for hiding his lack of a birf certifikit.

This might be good to include somewhere

http://www.eric.ed.gov/PDFS/ED205670.pdf

its the Immigration and Naturalization act, circa 1952 (the 1980 revised version). Of particular interest is article 322 on page 119 of the pdf, that shows what would have happened if Stanely Ann HAD gone to Kenya and had Obama, I.E. she could have naturalized him immediately on her return, no fraud needed. So why bother.

Note: This section is all about naturalization, and that would have made Obama a non-'natural- born citizen' !

On page 101 article 301(g) is the one that pertains of granting 'natural born citizen' status to a person born outside the USA. This is the article that birthers like to cite, cause it proscribes that the mother must have resident at least 10 years in the USA prior to birth, of which five must bee after the age of fourteen. At the time of birth of Obama jr Stanley Ann Dunham was still a few months shy of her 19th birthday and would not have been able to confer citizenship.

I think the point is why bother with anything more than instant naturalization if the point was to have the benefits of US citizenship. I cannot imagine new mothers going to a lot of bother to make sure their newborn child will meet the constitutional requirements of natural born citizenship when he grows up when it is only good for one thing and one thing only more that instant naturalization. It goes back to the tendency of birthers and other CT's to latch onto the most improbable scenarios while rejecting the most probable.

Bad statz:

  • 73 Dead end pages (do not link to any other page in the Wiki)
  • 2 Double redirects (page redirects to a page that redirects to another page
  • 11 orphaned pages - nothing links to them
  • 91 of 93 pages aren't in any category

Can you say "fustercluck"? ?(

There were also dozens, close to a hundred, dead links to articles that needed to be written but never were written, that I deleted a long time ago. When I spent [way too much] time over a 3-day period heavily editing the wiki, I also wanted to delete many of those 73 dead-enders, but people had spent considerable time authoring them so I didn't do it for possible future use. Of course, the nice thing about wiki is that everything that is "deleted" or heavily edited is preserved in history for restoration by anyone who wishes to do so, whenever.

Yeah.

Well, I'm gonna rebuild that thing. I'll put in links to all the now-orphaned pages I decide to keep, and put in links from all the dead-end pages back to my new Table of Contents template. Which I'm still working on.

It's a project, but worth my time. Gimme a few weeks, I'll have something.

You did great work, Poutine. I'm going to preserve it and make it accessible.

'Dead end' pages now reduced from 73 to 34. I didn't delete them. I renamed a lot of them and added the Table of Contents template on every page I keep. The "other useful pages" section is shaping up nicely, but still needs a ton of work.

When the number of 'dead end' pages is zero, I'll begin adding categories.

  • Imported the help files from Mediawiki; now when you click "Help" there's something there
(however, it's a little messy with extra code, to be cleaned up later)

A Smidge of Wikiphilosophy

Here's what I found in the Birther Debunkers Wiki (link at the bottom of every page in the forum):

A page called "New York, New York". Not meaning to single anyone out, I did the same thing as was done here. Just one I remember. It was a list of articles about when President Obama lived in New York, while attending Columbia University and working for Business International Corp.

It had links to all the articles. It was formatted properly. It looked good, and it was useful.

But there were no links on the page to anywhere else in the Wiki, for example a link to a Table of Contents. That made it, in Wikiworld, a "dead-end page". The whole idea of a Wiki is that it's supposed to be navigable.

There was also no page anywhere else in the Wiki that linked to the "New York, New York" page. That made it, in Wikiworld, an "orphaned" page. There was no indication anywhere in the Wiki that would have suggested to the user that there was a page full of articles about when President Obama lived in New York, while attending Columbia University and working for Business International Corp.

So while it was useful if you accidentally stumbled upon it, it wasn't useful to a user of the Wiki. Once again, the Wiki wasn't navigable.

All that has changed now. I created a template for a Table of Contents and put it everywhere. All you have to do to put it on a new page is type it enclosed in two curly brackets:
{{Table of Contents}}

If I change the template, it changes the Table of Contents on every page of the Wiki.

There are no more orphaned pages; there are no more dead-end pages.

That page name has been changed to "President Obama in New York, NY" and since it has nothing at all to do with his eligibility to serve as president, it's in the
Table of Contents --> Other useful and/or interesting pages --> President Obama in New York, NY

I've made some progress. However, there's still a lot of somewhat useless information, and a real dearth of useful information in some areas.

Soon I'm going to ask the volunteers to step back in and participate. This thing can be another awesome tool for providing information debunking the many lies of birtherism. Before I do invite people, I'm going to produce some simple training materials to make sure that what we do is consistent and coherent.

Moving forward ...
