Was the site down for a bit just now?

Stupid HostGator says my site is running now, and they can't see historical information about what happened this morning. I'll try to get Pingdom to text me the next time it happens. Pingdom reports show the site was down from 10:10 to 10:35 a.m. I'm NOT HAPPY.

This is not just a response to Zorbas. I've been getting PMs. So here goes:

I tried an "Ignore topic" modification once. It was a Beta version, and it messed up the board. I had to uninstall it, and in doing so I messed up two years worth of uploaded files. If they fix it and release it as an official mod, I'll reinstall it. Until then, no. I'm never installing another Beta mod.

But otherwise, no, I'm not going to create a special group, and a special forum, and all that goes with it, just because some of you don't like reading the posts about Trig birtherism. I'm also not going to order anyone to stop posting about it, and I'm not going to delete the posts that have already been made. I'm not going to censor discussion about it at all.

It's not my favorite topic either. I think it's a little unseemly too. But the people who are posting about it are members here in good standing. They aren't personally insulting anyone -- in fact, on occasion they've been personally insulted for writing about the subject. They're basing their posts on facts as they know them. Some say the issue has been settled. If so, I think there's a good chance Sarah intentionally endangered the life of her baby. I think that's a far worse accusation than "she faked being Trig's mom". But I'm not paying that much attention to it. I really don't care too much one way or the other.

If the Trig birther posts bother you, I suggest you do what I do: scroll by them without reading them, and don't participate in the discussion. For the record, I'm also not going to censor any discussion of Orly's physical appearance. There's actually a very long list of things I won't censor, and a very, very short list of things I will.

=D>

Isn't that hard to do. I'm interested in the Palins but find the Trig issue pointless and kind of gross. A combo of skimming and ignore seems to do the trick.

As for Orly's appearance, its not like we comment on things she was born with, like a bad nose etc. She has made a conscious decision about her appearance, likes attention and voila, she is getting it... good or bad.

Moderating a forum isn't censorship in any event, as there is no government action.

True. In order to violate the First Amendment, I'd have to be a government entity.

But it's the principle of the thing.

Jeez. We had 470 posts yesterday. And another 360 so far today. I'm having trouble keeping up.

That's not a complaint or a request to slow down. I'm thrilled to have that many posts in a day.

It's just a statement of tiredness.

New features you'd like to see implemented on Fogbow...

Well, how about an embedded java based game where we can throw virtual cow pies at virtual birthers.

Monthly high scorer would get a lovely prize.

Autographed painting of Orly?

Yes, very impressive. And we saw some old faces we haven't seen in a while.

I disabled "post review" following the discussion on R.C. Radio last night. It has to be done individually in every single forum. If I missed one (i.e., if your post gets held up so you can read what somebody else posted in that thread while you were writing it), make a note of which forum you're in, and PM me.

Rooster,

Thank you for the "NEW" button in front of new posts now. The old one was small and hard to work with on an iPad.
