Nice letter from Perkins-Cole asking nicely for 2 certified copies of the long form.

Looks like it was written by a very polite lawyer. No where did anyone get called a traitor. Seems when you ask nicely, AND have the proper credentials, there isn't much you can't do.

I feel validated. I've said for a long time that I didn't think much of the 'Obama CAN'T obtain his long-form' argument; I've always felt that the President of the United States could call in a favor. And that's precisely what they did: ask for a waiver of the general policy.

Something similar to that was posted on PJ by me. But it wasn't Kenya that encouraged it; it was the fact that African-American does not describe Obama Sr.

Now even MSNBC has turned the argument to "What is a Natural Born Citizen" which has never been defined, SCOTUS has never issued a ruling defining nbc.

So even the press is now turning, whether they think so or not, to "Vattel."

But they asked nicely and had the proper backing. It was advantageous to the state to rid themselves of this unbudgeted albatross around their necks.

And behold the waiver was requested and granted by whomever has the authority to grant it.

This is a good thing, but I wish he'd let the Birfers twist in the wind a while longer but...you can't have everything.

Beyond that, why didn't the obit mention he'd delivered the future POTUS 44?

It's clear this is all back and fill. The historical record is not consistent. I've seen nothing in any of Obama's school writings that explain he would become the 44th POTUS. No footnote in the listing of the board of editors to the effect that Mr. Obama would one day be POTUS and would appoint two female justices of SCOTUS.

Maybe we still need this board.
