OK, I admit it. I’ve heard of the Hubble, but not the Webb telescope. However, if I were to hear someone speak of the Webb telescope, my first reaction would be to run to teh Google, just to avoid such an embarrassment

Fox News host Laura Ingraham acknowledged her mistake in mocking President Joe Biden’s reference Monday to the James Webb Space Telescope, having seemingly been unaware that a telescope by that name exists. In his remarks at the White House, Biden had mentioned the Webb telescope in the context of his executive order designed to combat the potential negative consequences of artificial intelligence. “Did he call it the ‘Webb telescope’? Isn’t it the Hubble? Is he thinking of Webb-Hubble? I don’t understand,” Ingraham said, bursting into laughter. Shortly after, the Fox host cleared things up. “There is a Webb telescope that I didn’t know about,” she told viewers. “I stand corrected by Joe Biden.” Since its launch on Christmas 2021, the telescope—which is more advanced than the much older yet still active Hubble telescope—has captured a stunning array of images of the solar system and points beyond.
Good Lord. She didn't know about the Webb telescope.
I would imagine there are a great many things Laura Ingraham doesn't know.

The Webb Telescope isn't capable of seeing all the things Laura Ingraham doesn't know.

I have seen video showing the people at Faux news who work in the control room actually watching CNN because they want to actually be informed of what is on the news. Apparently the hosts don't bother to do that.

There's been a fairly big splash about the quality of the Webb images. Here are some images.

Speaks volumes about how desperate they are to portray Biden as mentally incompetent to an audience that's incurious about science or anything outside the bubble.

Fox News is showing its true colors, yet again.

The right-wing television network has remained entirely silent amid fierce backlash stemming from Islamophobic comments made on its top-rated show, “The Five,” by one of its top hosts, Jesse Watters.

In an astonishing and ugly rant, Watters on Wednesday said that he was fed up with Arab Americans and the entire Muslim world. “We have had it with them,” Watters declared during the diatribe, which aired during a segment about activists ripping down posts spotlighting Israeli hostages.

“And so, if you’re an Arab American in this country, and you ripped down posters of Jewish hostages of American hostages — no, no, no, no, someone is going to get punched in the face when you rip down posters of hostages like that,” Watters added.

The remarks earned Watters and Fox News another stinging rebuttal from the White House, which called them a “sickening attack on the rights and dignity of their fellow Americans.” The White House added that Fox News “owes an apology to every single viewer.”

If you’re waiting for an apology from Fox News, however, don’t hold your breath (you should probably know this by now). As usual, Fox News hasn’t said a word about the hateful rant that streamed out of a top host’s mouth and into the homes of millions.

The sad part is that even when Fox *denies* this kind of thing publicly, we have in the past tended to assume that they are doing so out of mendacity. The fact that the reporter asking the question didn't know enough to know how easy it would be to have the receipts just compounds the problem -- they have spent so much time eating their own dog food that they no longer as reporters know the truth in order to cross the street to avoid it.

Leave it to Fox and Friends to use last night's SNL skit on an aging Biden and drag in Kilmeade on a Sunday to analyze and politicize it ad nauseum, even going back to the choice to make him VP. Which of course carried into a promo on his ever-so-boring sounding book

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade praised "slave owners" because he said the United States of America would not exist without them.

Kilmeade made the remarks on The Charlie Kirk Show on Monday while promoting his book about Booker T. Washington and President Theodore Roosevelt.

"But for the most part, we are a country that was born, like every other country, every continent had slaves," Kilmeade said. "In the South, most houses, most plantations had slaves. Nobody condones it. But without those slave owners, we don't have a country. So you make your choice."
