Republican Talking Point of the Day:

Biden is a confused old man who can't find any way to eve respond to the crisis in the Middle East

Dear Republicans, rest easy, they neither need the confused old FL man who neither can't find a way to respond to any crisis.

Be assured that the Israelis have since ever known that they need to rely (mostly) on their own resources and resourcefulness. Hamas will need a couple of generations to recreate and replace a division of 1500 dead gouls. In the mean time they will have to work hard on replacing their own homes.

How long until Bibi goes all General Sherman on them, announces and 'Emergency Evacuation" of Gaza and just razes the whole thing to the ground.

Ship all 2 million of them in containers to Iran, Syria and Lebanon and make Gaza into a new settlement and Mar A Lago East Beach club. :thumbsup:

Aren't officials either senate confirmed OR elected? Which elected officials have to be senate confirmed?

The PAS positions.

There are colorable arguments that the president isn't an officer (and/or at least for 14th Amendment purposes).

It of course hasn't yet been litigated, and will depend on how a certain group of five people feel. (Assuming they hear a challenge on the merits, which isn't guaranteed.)

Appointments aren't elected, though. She specifically said "Senate confirmed elected officials." As far as I know it's one or the other, but not both.

Dayhm. That's a list. You could get a hand cramp signing all those. No wonder the appointment process takes so long. And so many opportunities for quid pro quo / familial ties / friends / special "freinds" / friend of a friend.

Watched a bit of F&F coverage this morning. Not on the curvy couch, but at the big desk for the Israel coverage, but they couldn't quite help themselves, they just HAD to bring up the open US border and how scary it is thinking terrorists like Hamas can get through and do their evil deeds in the US. :mad:

Hamas has no need to send fighters terrorists to the US, the US has their own share to bomb or shoot up Jewish locations, community centers and synagogues, Apart Hamas is a Palestinian organization, they do not intend to win back American land, but Middle East earth :twisted:

I would say absolutely.

And Gerald Ford would agree.,..
He was confirmed, not elected, as Vice President, the first person ever to become Vice President that way.

As a gamer nerd who does a lot of world building particularly in modern or near-modern (1950s to near future) settings, I tend to use this as a resource an awful lot for gothic horror, Superhero, or espionage RPGs. But I'm known for squirreling away stuff like this. It's also very useful, of course, in political discussions about organizational management of big agencies. QED.
But the sunshine aye shall light the sky,
As round and round we run;
And the truth shall ever come uppermost,
And justice shall be done.

@ndrew_lawrence

when youre on national tv and make fun of joe biden for calling the hubble telescope the web telescope and are doubled over with how funny it is without realizing theres a very famous james webb telescope
The embedded clip in the tweet is Laura Ingraham on Fox News in hysterics because Biden referred the the Webb telescope in his speech on AI when obviously he meant the Hubble telescope. (No, Laura, Biden meant the Webb telescope. Laura has no idea that there is a Webb telescope and she looks like an ignorant fool.)

Later, per TheDailyBeast -
Fox News host Laura Ingraham acknowledged her mistake in mocking President Joe Biden’s reference Monday to the James Webb Space Telescope, having seemingly been unaware that a telescope by that name exists. In his remarks at the White House, Biden had mentioned the Webb telescope in the context of his executive order designed to combat the potential negative consequences of artificial intelligence. “Did he call it the ‘Webb telescope’? Isn’t it the Hubble? Is he thinking of Webb-Hubble? I don’t understand,” Ingraham said, bursting into laughter. Shortly after, the Fox host cleared things up. “There is a Webb telescope that I didn’t know about,” she told viewers. “I stand corrected by Joe Biden.” Since its launch on Christmas 2021, the telescope—which is more advanced than the much older yet still active Hubble telescope—has captured a stunning array of images of the solar system and points beyond.
Good Lord. She didn't know about the Webb telescope. :roll:

That reminds of the throwback to when Laura Ingraham didn’t know about and couldn’t grasp the concept of a show called You.
