We are receiving reports that they are drinking the best, most juicy Koolaid in the world. :koolaid: When they shared the most beutiful dose of coolaid i the world, they can feel that deep sense of kinship and love. And in that they are uplifted into the best most spiritual losers. Pity they are not that classy.

I was going to say the same thing. On Faux News of all places.

I don't know who she is, but Faux should have her on more often.

Here are cult expert Dr. Steven Hassan's two video responses to Clinton's deprogramming comments. The second one is the best.

This expert lost me the minute he began talking about framing so that the other side feels heard and the speaker acknowledges that we are all human; because the other side, in this instance, whether you believe it a cult or not, has shown us that it doesn't share that opinion and can't be moved to it. I gave up on listening further. I'm sure that makes me part of the problem, but at this point, I can no longer care.

And, here's the thing: Every. Single. Person. in my circle of real life friends will tell you I am the optimist, the Pollyanna, the one-who-sees-the-good-in-folks. Every single colleague I have in my current employment who knows my reputation will tell you that I make it a point of being able to work with anyone, no matter how toxic or repugnant.

So my qualifications are not expert, but my vantage point is someone who is now completely burned out on trying to empathize with quasi-cultists and speak to their level. Their level is in the goddamned gutter and anyone who tries to tell me otherwise is automatically someone I exclude from any serious discussion about what to do with them, no matter their credentials. If your plan to get these people out of the gutter relies on appealing to common decency or a sense of shared humanity, you have already lost them, and me.
But the sunshine aye shall light the sky,
As round and round we run;
And the truth shall ever come uppermost,
And justice shall be done.

Consistent with that is the idea that if somebody didn't get where they are through reason, they're not going to be moved away from it by reason.

“San Marcos forced to pay $175,000 to Wendy Davis, other Democrats after “Trump Train” incident”:
https://www.texastribune.org/2023/10/17 ... ettlement/

“San Marcos police officers and professional staff must receive training on responding to political violence and voter intimidation and ways to develop community trust as part of a legal settlement approved Tuesday over a 2020 incident in which a caravan of Trump supporters were accused of harassing a Biden campaign bus as it drove on Interstate 35.

The city will also pay $175,000 to four individuals on the bus: former state Sen. Wendy Davis, who was running for Congress at the time; former Biden campaign staffer David Gins; campaign volunteer Eric Cervini; and bus driver Timothy Holloway. They accused San Marcos law enforcement in a 2021 lawsuit of ignoring multiple requests for a police escort as they traveled on I-35 from San Antonio to Austin days before the 2020 presidential election. They said they were surrounded by the Trump supporters who allegedly drove dangerously close to the bus while honking and shouting, forcing it to slow to a crawl.”

it's like they just believe any crackpot quackery they hear. The percentage of people who believe in purely stupid stuff has ballooned since 2016. Something truly screwed up must have happened around that time frame.

MAGA Conspiracy Theorists Now Believe Trump Will Be President Again In Less Than A Week
A MAGA fan who claims that he's a 'time traveler' is convinced that Trump will resume the presidency in a matter of days—and our eyes can't roll hard enough.

https://www.comicsands.com/conspiracy-t ... inkprogram
The man, identified only as Brandt, published a TikTok video in which he shared his prediction, which is not at all based on reality. As for evidence of his claims, Brandt could only offer that it's "all going to happen" and that he's "accurate most of the time."

He said:

"Are you ready for this? In 10 days, Donald J. Trump will be the next President or the current President, he'll become the next President again of the United States of America."

"No, I get it. There are some of you who are like, 'This is impossible!' This is my prediction and in 10 days, you'll see."

Brandt urged doubters and naysayers to like, comment, or share the video so they can come back later and report on the accuracy of his prediction:

"Comment on how excited you are that Donald J. Trump is coming back. Now I know that if you're Roseanne and you're watching my TikTok, he never left. But we have to agree that he left in some capacity because this country sucks thanks to Joe Biden."
He concluded:

"In 10 days, it's all going to happen. This is my prediction. I'm accurate most of the time."

There were skeptics of course.

And this one hates grammar as he obviously is not, or was not, or will not be, using the correct tense. He really should be using Dr. Dan Streetmentioner's Time Traveler's Handbook of 1001 Tense Formations.
