Several of us worked on transcribing an interview this past weekend without realizing that others were also working on it. It was extremely thoroughly transcribed :)

Any suggestions on ways to avoid too much overlap on such tasks in the future? Maybe just a ping to this topic with a "I'm working on the senator's interview on Saturday -- let me know if anyone wants to divvy it up with me" kind of post? We want maximum obot efficiency here!

I don't go out if my way to find things to transcribe, but I'm always willing to help. I'm a pretty good transcriber.

Plus DYAC always adds a bit of excitement.

Sounds like a good idea.

But what interview are you referring to? Did I miss something interesting?

RC put the transcript up on his rcradio blog earlier today (link below in the blog roll). It was the interview with Senator Mae Beavers from Tennessee regarding birther legislation they're mucking around with.

I plan to do the entire Hatfield interview from tonight, with questions. (And the Sinema(?) portion if that happens.)

I'll be working on it this weekend. If anyone else is thinking of doing any of it, we can coordinate here or holler at me in PM.

Just let me know the time you want me to start/finish at (to be going on with).

The transcripts of the show with Mae Beavers that you folks produced has had a significant impact. I can tell from the traffic that I have seen coming to my blog from sites like Mother Jones and the Nashville Post.

Well, good. :D

Now. I may need a little help. I've read So Many Randomly Capitalized Birther Posts over the last two years* that I may need someone to scan the section of the transcript I'm doing, so see whether I have Randomly Capitalizing Things That Don't Need Capitals Fever.

* Plus, I have that terminally British thing going on, so sometimes I just don't know. Personally, I can't type 'Queen' with a lower case 'Q' but I don't know whether the same goes for you and your Founding Fathers, for example. .

So if anyone's willing to give the transcript a quick once over before it is released, I would be very grateful. :-?

I can do that -- send it on to me and I'll append my part to the end and make sure we're consistent with other stuff too.

You guyz are awesome!

I can't transcribe 'cause I finger-peck type but my Mom was a teacher and I gotz pretty good grammar so I can proofread. No r'ly!*

Back in they day when I was hitchhiking some kids in Chico picked me up and said I was speaking some other language! All I could think of was that I spoke "educated". What can I say...
