There's a new governor in town and he (Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie) knew Obama's parents and met Obama as a baby, he's trying to change the law so Hawaii can release information to put an end to this crap which he considers
Quote:
“It’s an insult to his mother and to his father, and I knew his mother and father — they were my friends, and I have an emotional interest in that,” Gov. Abercrombie said in a telephone interview late Thursday night. “It’s an emotional insult, it is disrespectful to the president, it is disrespectful to the office.”
...
Mr. Abercrombie said that while he did not see the Obamas at the hospital with their newborn son, he does remember the couple bringing baby Barack to social events. He said those who suggest Mr. Obama’s mother somehow slipped off to Kenya to give birth to him are engaging in a “demonological fantasy.” And he is furious over bills, introduced in various state legislatures, that would require presidential candidates to document that they were born in this country. Similar legislation died in Congress last year. Mr. Abercrombie takes it personally.

Orly's fanatsy is that she is going to debate Gov. Abercrombie. Dream on, Chaleria. What normal human being would waste the time and give you the publicity of a debate like that?

Obly's response (they phone-interviewed her) :

Here is a link to Los Angeles Times article. Please, write and call governor Abercrombie of HI and demand the earliest possible date for the eligibility debate. Explain to him that an army hero is sitting in jail because he is not willing to serve under a usurper. There is a total demoralization of US military and it will only get worse until the issue is resolved

Well, not to be crass, but the root word for hysteria relates to the uterus, as it was believed that hysteria was something women (and only women) engaged in because of a "wandering uterus." So perhaps hysterectomy. A bit late for Orly, and it wouldn't really solve the right problem in any case.

Her real problem is what emerges from her larynx, which is produced by her diseased mind.

(Of course as we now know men engage in "hysteria" as well but it was never considered hysteria back when the concept was thought to have clinical significance, when it was a term invented by men to pathologize women who acted as annoyingly and irrationally as men were allowed to act by right. And actually, often a woman was diagnosed as being "hysterical" simply for disagreeing with a man or refusing to have sex with him. In our more enlightened age, the loutish man instead calls her a lesbian.)

Not to insult the Governor, but you and I know that nothing, absolutely nothing will ever satisfy the birthers. I'm not a fan of him releasing lawfully protected information to these morons, just because they are hyperbolic and annoying. If anything, him reacting to the birfers will just embolden them to become further irritants. I'm sure the good Governor has more pressing matters to deal with than idiotic conspiracy theorists, however infuriating they may be.

i think he's doing this for his own personal entertainment. i don't think he really believes he'll succeed where other conspiracy debunkers have failed.

I think it marginalizes the remaining birthers even more. Dumbasses can understand the difference between a long and short form birth certificate if Glenn Beck goes on a stupid-bender. But, explaining Vattel to the average uninformed voter....

My concern is that it encourages yet another form of goalpost moving -- now the birthers will claim a victory simply on the grounds that Abercrombie failed to shut them up.

i think all these concerns may be a bit premature. i can't imagine abercrombie releasing anything without obama's consent, which means that he has to sell the idea to obama first ...

It seems we have some consensus on the results.

  1. Abercrombie won't release more records = birthers still believe president is ineligible

  2. Abercrombie does release more records = birthers still believe president is ineligible

In that case, I'll take more records, por favor. I'm a curious guy.

One such medically therapeutic treatment would be too good for the Chaleria, kate. ;)

Don't do it, Neil
Restating the Obvious
December 25, 2010 - Harry Eagar

http://www.mauinews.com/page/blogs.detail/display/2786/Don-t-do-it--Neil.html

A New York Times reporter (somewhat comically impressed that Gov. Abercrombie called her at 11:30 p.m. -- it was 5:30 p.m. here) reports that Abercrombie wants to figure out how to loosen up state regulations a bit in order to put one in the eye of the birthers.

Nut grafs (and I do mean nuts):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nut_graph

...
I can admire Abercrombie's wish to stick up for his friends -- though it won't do them any good since they are dead -- but I do not agree that we in Hawaii should adjust our laws and regulations either for or
against the wishes of the demonological fantasists -- good phrase that -- who are whipping up the birther movement. There's no satisfying them anyway, but even if there was, it would be bad policy to defer to them.

From a purely political viewpoint, I think Abercrombie is on the wrong track. The birthers are all racists, and particularly lewd and crazy racists at that, which is saying something.

...
Republican candidates are going to have to deal with birthers, one way or another. What partisan -- nobody ever
accused Abercrombie of having any nonpartisan leanings -- wouldn't want his opponents to face the dilemma of fighting off the racists or embracing them?

....

The comments at Dr. Kate's House of Insanity should be sent to Gov. Abercrombie as proof why he should do nothing but ignore the lunatics and idiots. Showing any records would not make a dent in the eyes of the ignorant.

Requests increase for Obama birth proof
By Rob Shikina
POSTED: 01:30 a.m. HST, Dec 25, 2010

...

At least two staffers spend an hour a day handling requests for Obama birth records, a department official said. They also have to interpret unclear or perplexing requests, sometimes seeking opinions from attorneys at the attorney general's office and the state Office of Information Practices.

For example, some requests ask the state to provide a copy of the seal used on Obama's certificate of live birth, said Cathy Takase, an Office of Information Practices attorney. The Health Department has responded by sending a pencil shading of the embossment, rather than the seal, which officials say could be misused for fraudulent purposes.

Takase said many questions about the seal come from one blogger with several aliases. This month the blogger asked the office to hold off on some of her requests because she was going to send a new request to the new Health Department director, Takase said.

"If you look at all the cases that we had, they were really only a handful of people, but they just made a lot of requests and very lengthy and ongoing kinds of requests," Takase said.

Despite my general support of the issues MoveOn.org represents, I don't think I will ever forgive them for their Gen. BetrayUs campaign. To make it worse, I had made a contribution for that ad, sight unseen. I haven't made one since.

Well, that's got to be ButterBuns. I think if they were to release something else that demonstrates Pres Obama was born in Honolulu, whatever that might be, would convince 96% of the people who answer surveys that they aren't sure if the President was born in the US, the casual birthers. For the overwhelming majority of people, "natural born citizen" means "born here". I don't think most people are interested in the dual citizen, two citizen parent, Indonesia, adoption, travel to Pakistan theories. They're too technical and require too much explaining to keep the average person's attention for more than 15 minutes. So then we're left with the 4% who would bother to attend an American Grand Jury meeting, how many was that? About 300? Those are the more committed birthers. Then we have the 25-40 who attend court martials and Berg-apaloozas and write letters to the Dept of Health in Hawaii. Those folks aren't going to go away. They are hard core birthers who are going to keep coming up with complicated convolutions why Pres Obama is not NBC.

I think they're going to end up having to tell those people to bugger off.
