True dit. My boss was arguing before the Supreme Court of NC. He described Chief Justice Sarah Parker thus:

"her face looked like she was sucking a lemon and then somebody farted"

I would love to see a cartoon of that!

Has anybody ever looked into whether Vattel was a natural born citizen of Switzerland? He was born in Couvert, which from the very start sounds suspicious. Were his parents both natural born citizens of Switzerland and were they married at the time of conception? And what is with this business of representing Saxony in Bern and then serving as a minister in the cabinet of Augustus III in Dresden, Germany? Could he have had dual citizenship or even, the horror of it, dual allegiances? Why did he change his name Emer to Emmerich if not to reflect a German heritage? And why did he base his most famous book on Christian Wolff's Latin Jus Gentium? Is this evidence of a secret Vatican conspiracy with the man known as de Vattel?
