If you want to take a look at Cliven's COMPLAINT FOR EMERGENCY WRIT OF MANDAMUS AND INJUNCTIVE RELIEF written by our most favoritist attorney-at-law (well, second to Orly, who stands alone), you will have to head over to GIL's website. Ugh, yeah, I know, but the doc is 154 pages long, much too large a file for TFB. Cliven is suing Jeff Sessions, et alia.

Klassic Klayman:
Given his background, Mr. Klayman holds a great deal of respect for the Office of the Attorney General and the Hon. Jeff. Sessions (“Mr. Sessions”), but nonetheless believes that this Complaint is necessary because Mr. Sessions has failed to carry out his oath of office and fulfill his duties as Attorney General. Like Mr. Klayman, Mr. Sessions took an oath to administer to and mete out justice within the bounds of the ethics and the law as a member of the DOJ. Despite the fact that Mr. Sessions is on the defensive by being unfairly branded as a racist and improperly investigated in the Russia probe, he still unequivocally has the duty to fulfill his oath of office. Unfortunately, Mr. Sessions has failed to do so, as he has reflexively buried his head in the proverbial sand. This does not serve the interests of justice, for which this great institution, my alma mater, is known!
And much, much more. :trashcan:

Sad. GIL's stuff isn't even amusing anymore. It's just bad outrage porn.

John Smith (formerly of the Las Vegas Review Journal)* has written an excellent color piece on the Bundy trial. There isn't much, if anything, that readers of this thread don't already know, but Smith writes elegantly and the courtroom scene is right before your eyes. Kudos to Mr. Smith.

Thanks for the link. LOL, I think his version of the daughter's outburst is very different from We Doubt It's News, linked to up thread.
The disappointment of the elder Bundy’s failure to win relief was palpable in the gallery. Shiree Bundy Cox, Cliven Bundy’s eldest daughter, shouted, “Gloria Navarro, you are an evil, cold-hearted woman.”

Rising to make her exit, Bundy Cox saw the approach of courtroom security officers. “I don’t care, touch me if you want,” she said, then shouted over her shoulder, “You are a liar! I love you, dad!”

Before courtroom personnel could close the door, she yelled, “Don’t touch me. I’ll sue your ass if you touch me.”

I hopped on over to Shiree's Facebook to get her take on it. Lots of people talking about how righteous she was to do what she did. Lots of insults directed to the judge, mostly along sexual lines - she's a slut, she's a whore, etc. (Why don't men ever get the sexual insults?) My favourite by far was the woman who called Navarro "the devil's concubine." :rotflmao:

The two comments on the Nevada Independent site are less laudatory.

"When the Bundys placed woman and children as human shields during the standoff at Bunkerville were any of the Bundy kids put at risk? Those who doubt they used women and kids as shields can watch the video by Sheriff Mack."

Edit: Here is the video. I wonder why he was not charged.

"I'd be willing to bet that all the Bundy children and grandchildren are home-schooled, so the parents can indoctrinate them with their own "special" brand of patriotism and fake constitution."

I know Lisa and Angie send their kids to public schools. I don't know about Marylynn (Dave's wife) or Briana (Mel's wife) although I think Briana's kids are all preschool age. Challice Finicum Finch home schools but her oldest is in (homeschool) kindergarten so that may change when he hits first grade. Mormons don't homeschool at the same rate as Evangelicals, although I believe it is becoming more common.

Having said that I'm certain they all teach their version of the Constitution at home, and kids tend to listen to their parents more than their teachers. Plus too also, when do kids start studying government in school? For me it was around 5th grade (10 or 11 years old) so that leaves a lot of room for indoctrination beforehand. If you read (Ryan and Angie's oldest) Jamie Bundy's Facebook page you will see she's already a lost cause.

Reference made to Dan Love emails being 'deleted, scrubbed or cleansed' for inappropriate language, non-politically correct language

However, judge says there's 'categories of information' that require more attention by the court - Dan Love emails, for example

Judge: Court doesn't agree there's been any Brady violations re: records on former BLM Agent Dan Love

This was Comey's FBI in action. Maybe there were great agents in New York and Washington, D.C., but they begin to look like a bunch of Keystone Kops in Las Vegas and Portland.

The passerby is referring to the protest outside the courthouse, of which Maxine has a video. Unfortunately, that video wouldn't embed. Country/Christian music blasting, pootriots holding signs and generally looking like the dorks and ignoramuses they are.

Has the judge ruled on Ammon's motion for pretrial release yet?

No - that is to be discussed in court after lunch break.

Thanks -- wasn't sure I missed it. I, for one, don't necessarily think he's a flight risk as much as he is a risk to commit further misconduct (as in, more standoffs), and put the lives of more people at risk.

I believe he would be at risk of disappearing while the jury is deliberating.

Any of the Bundy Klan could hide out in plain sight at Bundy Ranch. There are already "security guards" in place on the ranch, and Cliven, so far as I know, didn't go much of anywhere without one of his bodyguards. (Too bad, so sad that Cliven was unable to take his armed thugs along to his aborted trip to Portland.) In essence, if the Bundys decide to hole up at the ranch, and the usual suspects decide to support them, there's the possibility of a Waco-style debacle.

It would actually be a duplicate of the "standoff" that lead to this trial. Judge Navarro is not going to let that happen. She's not soft like the Portland judges.

Around the 5 minute mark in that KK and Lambo video they argue that MacGuire pleading guilty to a misdemeanor means the government is running scared. IANAL, but I'm pretty sure they're wrong there.
