wow right in his opening statement, Apuzzo made 4 lies concerning Minor v Happersett (sorry catching up, can't watch YT videos at work so viewing them on my android). what a way to start off your case Mario; as if a lawyer wouldn't look at the case and see how you even misstated the court's dicta.

I didn't watch the video, but ususally the term refers to the suitcase that contain the nuclear launch codes in the case of attack. The suitsuit is always close by whereever the President is.

The President is always accompanied by a military attendant that carries a device, in a brief case, that allows the President react to a Nuclear Attack on the US. The standard reaction would be to launch a strike of our own. In order to do that launch 'codes' are needed. They are changed daily or even more often. These codes verify to SAC\NORAD etc that it is a Valid attack order. The Nickname for the briefcase\device that does this is the 'Nuclear Football'.

I was watching the proceedings where Apuzzo keeps going on and on about the President's name while he was a child. If opposing council would bring in the facts of Obama's wedding to Michelle and the associated Illinois law on how a person's name is established, that shit would be shut down completely.

I researched Illinois Law at the time the President married Michelle and it sets forth, among other things, that a person's name after marriage is legally the name used after the marriage if that is the name on their birth certificate.

That establishes that the President's name for all legal purposes is the name on his birth certificate irrespective of anything which occurred prior to that point.

I believe that should be used to shut these people up.

BTW, I love toward the end of the first video how the Judge tells Apuzzo , how can you hold a 4 year old to what their parents wrote down or called them. How can Obama be responsible for what his parents wrote?

My mother called me by my nickname all when I was young. so much so, that I printed my name on homework and papers with my nickname. My teachers had no problem with that and often listed my report card and my school records under my nickname. My parents never legally changed my name to my nickname. funny how through 13 years of school, i was known by my nickname yet when it came to graduation, my diploma (the only thing that matters) lists my real full first name.


Oy vey. so what apuzzo; his parents could have called him Rinky dinky long and stinky all of his life. Please show me the papers where his parents LEGALLY changed his name.


2nd video drives it home best by the judge (paraphrased): does it mean that every person who has had a nickname is not who they are say to be? come on counselor.

The 'nuclear football' is a communication device that is with reach of the president at all times so that he can communicate with other world leaders and the military people in charge of nuclear weapons. Apparently, there are people assigned to the duty of carrying this device where ever the president goes.

What's interesting is that Randall Terry was kicked off the ballot. I wonder what that was all about.

Yes, the hearing was much longer than it had to be, but I am very pleased that the judge was so well prepared and took to time to debunk the evidence and the spurious claims as they were presented. No other judge has really done that. He allowed some things in 'to make a complete record' but indicated their lack of value as evidence. Others, he would simply not allow. Zero weight + zero weight + zero weight and more zeros all added up to zero evidence. Zero relevance. The same with the strained NBC arguments which the judge pierced one by one in a patient, respectful manner. I think I detected a bit of glee as he went along.

I think this judge was tired of all the birther bs and that they have been able to get away with it without a public on the record evaluation. I don't think Apuzzo and friends are going to be selling DVD's of this hearing. All they can do is say one more court and one more judge did not understand the Constitution and the Law.

As for the campaign lawyer, I think she was occasionally looking back and communicating with a colleague as to how the case was going. For the most part she just had to keep the chair warm.

Not exactly a smirk. I would say he was relishing the opportunity to do something he had been itching to do. He did not just start following the birther cases. He did not miss a beat. How did you feel when he asked Apuzzo to tell him how old Obama was when his mother wrote some esoteric notation in (---) on her passport application and crossed it out? When he asked the same kind of questions about the Indonesian school records? When he called his evidence "far-fetched" and completely skewered the CCCP as political smears? It's as if the world is a little less out of balance today.

Because Terry's an asshole? Seems like a good enough reason to me
