 Incredible! A masterful piece of work. You could fill in the blanks, and blow away any birfer case with a package based on this legal symphony. :!:

I can see the Democratid Party of MS has a real handle on this Birfer shit.

I saw Velamoor in CA after the trial, but of course, there is nothing I could say or do. Just nodded “hello”. It’ss not like he’ll admit that Bauer sent him to write garbage and kill the case.

"Plaintiffs cannot credibly argue that the original intent of the provision was to require candidates to provide state-issued birth certificates, social security cards, or secret service registration forms, given that no such papers even existed at the time the Constitution was drafted."

Shouldn't that read "selective service" not "secret service"? Don't mean to split hairs, but just wanted to point out there is a difference. ;)

I want to add my admiration for the totally magnificent filings by Mssrs Begley and Tepper. I'm really looking forward to the next events in this case.

I hope this opus also has a life beyond this particular case -- that others dealing with Orly in the future will see it as a model and source for summarizing her relentless and costly craziness, and that this devastating takedown will follow her into all of her future attempts at birthering.

Magnificent, and while all very proper, it's great, entertaining reading as well also. Too.

Reading how Taitz thinks courts operate is hi-larious. Being a judge and rubberstamping and collecting a big paycheck sounds like quite the gig. (Except for Scalia; he's the only judge in America who thinks for himself, according to Taitz.)

Bravo to the MDEC and friends!!!

OMG, that was a fun read! A rather concise précis of La Taitz over the last 4 years, all wrapped up in a tidy package, with lovely footnotes and amusing asides.

I think the one about ignoring Orly not being a crime is my favorite.

It is when you call Orly's Cell Phone during a case...repeatedly just to hear the ringtone over the Internet from one of the broadcast hearings.

Or where you take a phone and whip the shit out of something that really deserves it (NADT).

Soooo . . . under Orlylaw, as the President is being sworn in, with the thousands of other things he needs to do, he summarily discharges all the federal law clerks (even though this would be in the middle of their one- or two-year (or more) service to the judge for nearly all of them (I don't know of any judge who hires law clerks in the middle of January), -- and there are many law clerks for federal judges -- and replaces them with pro-regime clerks?? :-k So, Bush had his law clerks all over the country, Clinton had his, etc.? =))

Obviously, the law students at Taft never went through the law clerk hiring process. Perhaps they knew they didn't stand a chance? Or she's just full of :turd: .

I gotta say that this makes me proud to be from MS. My guess is that she had no clue that she would meet her own personal Armegeddon in our beautiful state, surrounded by the sweet scent of magnolias, the gentle swaying of wisteria vines, soft breezes rustling the pine needles, and the incredible warmth and hospitality of our citizens. She will be received (if it ever comes to pass) with light pats on her arm, sympathetic nods and murmers. lots of "bless her heart" comments and numerous offers of "can I get you a glass of water, dear?" It's not in our nature to react to ear-splitting screeches and public displays of batshitty insanity and unadulterated drama with anything other than the polite, genteel response she received from Mr. Begley, who will ultimately grind her to dust under his well-polished boot heel. Wing tips for Mr. Tepper most likely.

As the saying goes "In the North, they hide the crazy aunts in the attic and ignore them. In the South, we dress them up, sit them on the porch and invite the neighbors over for coffee."

We have lots of practice in dealing with the crazy relatives down here, as so amply demonstrated by the B&T Tag Team.

I thought the Memorandum laid out everything so clearly that I asked my DH, who follows birfing and Orly only second-hand, to read it. His reaction? "She's finished. This'll be used every time she files anything anywhere in the future."

And he picked up on "Papers please" and "heritage-based" without any prompting.
(I had to tell him about "Ignoring Orly Taitz" though. )

That's a common problem. It's difficult to get the 'okina to render properly.

The whole diacritical marks thing is a tough style issue, and a tougher cultural issue. They're important if you want to properly convey meaning. (For example, I am writing this while finishing a cup of coffee on the lānai at the Navy Exchange; I have never been to Lāna'i.)

Generally, the Hawaiian language spelling is preferred, but even the state government is a bit inconsistent in their usage. There's also the question of how to handle cases like the Hawaii Revised Statutes, which received their name before the use of the 'okina was restored to the language.

Possessives complicate things further, and start to get into culturally sensitive territory. The -ian suffix and the possessive "s" are English features, not Hawaiian ones, so there seems to be eyeless of a consensus on whether Hawaiian or Hawai'ian is more appropriate.

I have many pages yet to read in this thread. We went for eye exams this week. Wifehorn had a detached retina and needed semi-emergency surgery to fix it, and I've fallen badly behind. She's perfectly OK, in fact she's already back outdoors today, running a booth at OutRaleigh, a local LGBT celebration downtown. But I'm still catching up around here.

I downloaded, printed out and read the brief. You know which one. I'm calling it "The Empire Finally Strikes Back". The rebellion will surely be crushed.

That's the brief that's been wanting all these years. It's nothing less than masterful. It's an awesome work of art, yes I said art, and it's a model for use against all future birther ballot challenges. It reflects hundreds of hours work, that's evident. But not a word wasted, and so many pithy, devastating bon mots. The thing reeks of professionalism.

And it's the whole anti-Birther story from beginning to end, with obvious reference to the work done here and on Politijab and other anti-birther sites over the years. If you mined Fogbow and Doc C's and nbc's and PatGund's and Adelante's and all the other blogs and websites that have managed to coalesce over the years into a tiny but viable and extremely effective anti-birther movement, you couldn't find anything missing that should have been put in that brief. It's all there, and I suspect that some of it originated from the contributions of the membership here over the years. I think every active member of this forum gets some credit.

It's a great brief. Mr. Begley and Mr. Tepper (and whoever may have helped them, if they had any help) have won my undying admiration. That's the brief I hoped I'd read someday to combat these seditious vermin. I'm proud just to be on the same side as lawyers who can reason, and think, and write like that.

It's too bad Orly's not intelligent enough to absorb it all. A lot of it will be unintelligible and incomprehensible to her. It will be a LOT of fun to read her opposition. :D

Yes, this vicious vindictive vixen shall not vex the court very much longer with her vile and voluminous vitriol. The valiant and virtuous Teppernator and Beglemeister shall be victorious over this venomous vendetta that swirls in the vacant cerebral vortex of a walking talking vulgarity. With their veridical vision of law they will vanquish her vociferous fervor.

Ahhhh, the crescendo!
