Inasmuch as the court has not ruled on Al's panicked motion for a continuance, he must be prepared to go forward on Monday. Still, I hope -- purely for entertainment value -- that Orly shows up and attempts her usual commando ambush-style of dumping an application for pro hac vice admission on the spot. I sense that this judge will not cave in like Judge Carnes did.

Wonder if any amateur videographers will be there to capture the humiliation.

So far as I can tell, the basis for Al's motion is "I have no clue what the hell I'm doing and didn't even bother to try figuring it out beforehand but just filed a bunch of stupid crap anyway. Is that basically it? And he thinks he gets some kind of equivalent of a restraining order out of this bullshit?

I imagine he'll be shocked and outraged when, even if he gets a continuance, Obama goes right on the ballot without any delay.

Anyway, think of the hubris here. You file a law suit knowing that it needs to be resolved by Jan 19. There are many things that you can do to see that it gets resolved by that date. You do none of them.

Two weeks before that date, you ask for a stay and an injunction so you can get your shit together.

Getting your shit together means hiring an out-of-state attorney who is going to eventually need to file for more time to be permitted to represent you.

By the time you get your shit togeter, the general election is going to have taken place. I assume you will ask for an injunction regarding that when the time comes.
